For the 9th year in a row we enjoyed the Oceanaire for our pre-race meal. It is quiet and the service is excellent. I like fish especially salmon or Tuna for my pre-race meal. The house salad is perfect and I love the choices of vegetables. Important to me for pre-race is the options for preparing the fish. There is... More

The Oceanaire is a beautiful spot for an important luncheon or fine dining in the evening. The wait staff is extremely attentive. Food comes out a bit slowly but it is always afresh and tasty.

I recommend this seafood restaurant as another choice for seafood in boston to get both good taste and great experience. Its location is very near the famous quincy market and freedom trail and is a competing choice to the more famous Union oyster house. We love its yellow tuna sashimi and its excellent crab cake. The place is a former... More

Had my birthday dinner there. Absolutely wonderful. The lobster Mac and cheese is unbelievable, and the Boston Cream Pie is the best in the cuty. This is my favorite restaurant in Boston. You can't go wrong. Service is impeccable and the food is consistently excellent.

Dinner meeting with colleaugues. Nice selection, menu changes daily and sometimes twice daily to insure freshest options. Mainly seafood, but some steaks as well. Wife wine and cocktail selection. Excellent sourdough bread, enjoyed the filet which was cooked very well. Attentive wait staff that are very knowledgeable. I did t have it, but others raved about the oysters and the... More

Stopped by around 6PM on Thursday. Oceanaire offers a terrific Happy Hour Bar menu during certain hours with special food and drink items. You really can't beat it. Great selection of food at very reasonable prices. I had the Fish Tacos and Oyster Sliders. Got two wonderfully prepared Fish Tacos, and Three Oyster Sliders with two perfectly Fried Oyster on... Went for "Restaurant Week" and everything was absolutely delicious. We loved the bartenders, waiters, and staff also. The menu was fantastic and the food was perfection. Very classy but not snotty. Can't wait to go back again soon!!

We didn't know the area and so I relied on TripAdvisor to give me suggestions and The Oceanaire Seafood Room was it! We had reservations but arrived early. That was not a problem--we were seated right away! Our waiter was attentive and gave great recommendations. I had the crab cakes and they were delicious! I also had the clam chowder... More

We enjoyed a Saturday night birthday celebration at the Oceanaire Seafood Room. What a great space! It is very open but intimate at the same time; it appears to be a former bank with a grand staircase leading down to the vault. After being promptly seated, the table was presented with a tasty chunk of sourdough bread and a crudité,... More

One of our favorite places to eat in Boston outside of the North End. It is part of an upscale chain, specializing in seafood and steaks. Despite not being a stand alone restaurant, the ambiance is outstanding, located in an old bank with marble and many complementing modern touches. The food is wonderful. The lobster, crab cakes, crab chowder and... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
