We visited Ashville and found this restaurant downtown. The waitstaff was very attentive, and the food was steamy hot. The customers around us gave us great suggestions. We will go back tmrw

Solid spot for consistently good food and good drinks. I usually sit at the bar and Matt the bartender is always happy to help.

Went here with my wife because I couldn't believe there was a good lobster place here in the mountains, and I was right. To their credit, the lobsters are flown in from Maine by the owners friend, who she worked with in the industry there....More

Our family recently at dinner here, and it was delicious! Steamed Lobster was excellent. Our waitress even offered to open it for us. Would definitely return if in the area again.

Never been disappointed. This place has fresh seafood flown in daily. It is our go-to restaurant in Asheville. Sometimes to wait can be long, but there is a lot to see in downtown within a 5-min walk after you get on the waiting list and...More

Great food, friendly wait staff. Margarita was tasty, but 75% ice, so not worth it. Lots of shopping nearby.

We loved the vibe, the staff and the food. It was just a bit pricey for the portions we were served.

I am so sorry about your steak! And I am more sorry that we didn't have the opportunity to make it up to you. Please feel free to call the restaurant. We would love to do something for you. Please accept my apologies.

So many good items—-fresh cold water oysters-the best! Cioppino-flavorful yet different from San Francisco version. Scallops-artfully prepared but real standout-the cornbread—omg...wow! Bibb salad a good choice, too. Table next to us had lobster which looked like the bomb-no small entree—I started salivating over the lobster...More

Description
Since its opening in 2005, The Lobster Trap has been Asheville's premier seafood restaurant, and with good reason. The menu only features fresh seafood caught by trusted domestic purveyors and prepared in ways that showcase the delicate flavors and textures of fish, lobster, crabs, shrimp, oysters and clams. Located in a beautifully renovated historic building in the heart of downtown Asheville, The Lobster Trap features live entertainment from local musicians every night. To that, add locally brewed Oyster House beers, craft cocktails, seafood-friendly wines and southern hospitality and you have The Lobster Trap's formula for success.
