I'm from the Asheville area and have been here several times but this time was terrible! From the moment we walked in the door it was bad. The hostess was indifferent to the point of being rude and was not welcoming at all. Lots of dirty, empty tables that took forever to be cleaned while there were lots of people... More

We should have walked out the door in the beginning. We just thought the hostess was overwhelmed with being both hostess and bus staff! And maybe she was, has she was not at all friendly or welcoming! The waitress said, "give me two shakes and a twist", when we were first seated! Thirty minutes later we got our drinks, appetizer... We were told it was a 30-35 min wait but it ended up being a 50 minute wait. Not a huge deal except that it took forever to get our food. We got there at 5:50 and didn't get our food til about 7:30. They messed up our orders and the food was very subpar.

I am sorry to hear your experience with us was subpar. At The Cantina it is our goal to delight every diner every time and clearly we missed the mark. I do hope you'll give us another try sometime soon so we can show you what all the rave is about! More

We waited for over an hour at this cantina for our meal. In the meantime, we were served our drinks. I ordered a $5 house margarita that had about five sips watered down with lots of ice. Disappointing. Also, I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that charges for the chips and salsa. The waitress failed to communicate that... More

I am so sorry for your wait, the evening you came in we had a system failure that disrupted our printers which made sending orders to the kitchen and printing out credit card slips impossible. It was an off night for us all around and I am sorry you didn't get the experience you deserve. I do hope you'll give... More

Service was excellent, but the food was just average at this Mexican stop. The queso was very thin, but had a nice kick. We had the shrimp burrito and the beef tacos for dinner. Again, nothing to complain or rave about. The Sangria was very good and they had a terrific selection of local beers to sample.

We had lunch including quesadilla and grilled chicken dishes. Of course we had chips and salsa with all available accompaniments. Great lunch, wonderful service.

Not your normal Mexican restaurant. Stuffed avacado was fabulous, as were black & blue nachos. Grilled veggies were great and I've never been offered Brussel sprouts at a Mexican restaurant before. Will definitely be back.

Food was good but this is the only Mexican style restaurant I have ever eaten at anywhere that doesn't put chips and salsa on the table. They actually charge for it. 2 regular lunch meals was $32 without tip. Not worth that! So stingy with the food and over-priced.

We charge $1.99 for unlimited chips and salsas however if you order guacamole or queso you also receive an unlimited amount of our two house salsas and chips! We are a certified green restaurant, which is something we pride ourselves on but it was not easy to get there. One of the big challenges we faced was getting our waste... More

We visited The Cantina for dinner and really enjoyed our time here. Top shelf margarita was wonderful, and the food was fast and delicious. The wait was moderate, but there was plenty of seating and you didn't feel cramped or in the way of staff trying to get around. Great spot for a relaxed meal.
