We walked around the town trying to find somewhere to go and of course when you are with someone indecisive it makes it harder. 😀. We walked up to Mayfels and I am glad we did. The food the excellent!! I had the Muffuletta and its a must. I was filled on half but had to eat the other half.... More

We needed to dine at a dog friendly place and found this one on fido. It was easy to find right across from the square where they have the Friday drum circle. The shrimp po'boy was so tasty with the lightest shrimp batter ever. It was a huge serving as well. My dining partner got the meatloaf accompanied by fried... More

Great location in central downtown. Dog-friendly patio. Eclectic inside seating with self-serve Bloody Mary Station. The vegetarians liked their salad & veggie platter. Husband had beignets for appetizer. Hamburger was big & juicy. I've never seen such a giant crab burger. The okra was great! Friendly service. Highly recommend.

I had the shrimp and grits for brunch and - WOW. Came with a biscuit with local jams - YUM. Felt like I was in New Orleans. Friendly waitstaff and a cool location if you sit outside and listen to the musicians and watch the happenings in the Park across the street. A little pricey, but I'll definitely be back... More

Friend and I stopped in here on a girls trip. We didn't have a plan, but happened by and checked out the menu and gave it a shot. We sat outside, which was really nice when the weather is good. The food was great and the service was good. I ordered the Fried Chicken Biscuit- it was delish. The fried... More

Stopped in for lunch and we both had the B.L.F.G.T. Bacon, Lettuce Fried Green Tomatoes, it was a very good sandwich and the price was cheap too. The breakfast looked great too!

We had breakfast/brunch here on a busy Saturday morning in July. The Southern Style Eggs Benedict was wonderful. The fried green tomato and country ham on biscuit were very tasty. My husband's omelette was a generous portion, so much that he could not finish the serving. We ate on the covered porch/patio and people-watched. Some patrons brought their well-behaved dogs,... My sisters and I stumbled upon Mayfel's while looking for a spot to eat dinner. We loved the decor and the staff was friendly. Our server was very attentive and helpful with picking out dishes. The food was good BUT not seasoned enough. I had the meatloaf and it was amazing, however the okra and potatoes were a bit bland.... More

The food at Mayfel's is great. It is fresh and flavorful. The menu has a lot of New Orleans style dishes. The only drawback is that it is a little pricy. The portion sizes are good though and the food is worth it. Everyone raves about Tupelo Honey, but Mayfel's is much better. Definitely try this if you are in... More
