Mayfel's has delivered great food with excellent service at a good price each time I've visited. While it looks like a touristy place the food is fresh, hot, and tasty. Today, my wife had the oysters and beans & rice while I had a plate...More

My son had already been to Mayfel's but, since I was visiting, it was a first for me. Had it been just a little warmer, we would have eaten outside, but it was a chilly day in early May, and I insisted on eating inside....More

Had a great lunch at Mayfel's with the fam. One of the specials was bacon wrapped scallops on an arugula salad, and it didn't disappoint. A smoky Bryson City Brown paired with it just fine for me. Other dishes around the table were the breakfast...More

My husband I enjoyed our dinner outside on the sidewalk watching all the fun and activity of downtown Asheville. The gumbo and short rib po'boy were both very good, but the highlight was the location.

The fried green tomatoes were the best I have ever eaten. Well worth a drop in if you are in Ashville, North Carolina.

Our hotel recommended Mayfels. It is on the main street across from a happening square with music and dancing and a magical atmosphere. The staff was delightful and accommodating. But the food was just okay and not inexpensive.

You can certainly assemble the elements of a brunch anytime from the menu. Cocktails and coffee when you want them.
