A really nice brunch venue. During my visit, they had a build your own bloody mary bar....Brilliant! The establishment has a funcky vibe - relaxed. Try any of the eggs bededict - I had one of their specials with a spicy hollindaise sauce - spot on. The staff was super friendly - which I found refreshing. Will definitely visit again.

We have eaten at Tupelo Honey every time we were in Asheville over the past years. This time, we waited too long and were faced with a 1.5+ wait time so we stopped at Mayfel's. Their wait was only 30 minutes. What a treat. A vintage and whimsically decorated. The food was great and the service was quite good. On... More

My wife and I enjoyed breakfast here on New Year's Morning and it was amazing. I enjoyed a crawfish omelet, potatoes and biscuit while my wife went with the gumbo. Service and food was some of the best I have ever experienced.

We were spending a few days in Asheville for the first time. We walked through the old downtown on our first night and patrons leaving Mayfel's recommended it. We returned the following evening to try it and we're not disappointed. Po-boys and gumbo were outstanding. The trout dip is addictive. As frequent travelers to New Orleans, we appreciate good Cajun... More

This was a short walk from our hotel. I had the crawfish omelette and a biscuit. The omelette was good (not the best I have ever had ) I enjoyed the biscuit and jam. I would go there if I was in downtown.

It was a rainy morning with our English Bulldog, and looking for a place to enjoy breakfast. We happened upon a Louisiana gem. Wow what a dog friendly warm surprise! Service was fantastic, even for our Bully! Try yourself this special Bloody Mary, and defiantly have the Eggs Benedict, crispy English muffin with perfectly cooked eggs and ham to die... More

This restaurant started from a Louisiana lady who took her cooking seriously. Get the shrimp po'boy! Funky atmosphere and seating inside the restaurant or on the covered porch or back alley open alcove. A trip to Asheville is not complete without a stop at Mayfel's for breakfast, lunch, or supper.

I went here because it seemed I could get in and out quickly. There were a couple other places I wanted to try nearby, but they were busier. I was not disappointed. Everything I had was good and the service was very good. I had the chicken biscuit and the tomato soup. Recommend both.

My husband and I went here for breakfast and were overwhelmed with how yummy it was! Awesome flavor, out of the ordinary breakfast menu, allowed us to venture and try new things we would never have before. Atmosphere is cozy and an adorable spot. We will definitely go back if we visit Asheville again!
