...and that's not a double entendre. Not at all hypeworthy. The grits had great texture but lacked flavor, and the eggs appeared to be from a carton. That said, I've had worse...but rather disappointing nonetheless.

Yes the food was solidly 'good.' Amazing? ...can't say that. If you've ever eaten at a farm-to-table in CA or Austin, this is going to seem at or under par. The 'granola punk' factor is high and that gives the appearance of restaurant edginess...maybe what others say is 'cool'? The dishes have Southern twist and great flavor; but, I'd go... More

We ended up going twice and then moved on. This place is good however it seems to be overrated to us. The biscuits were smaller than usual and a bit dry. The eggs were served burnt and it wasn't even crowded when we were there. The jam was good as well as the sweet tea. I like ham but that... More

Another great breakfast on our second trip to Asheville. Very cool atmosphere including the servers, with their torn tshirts and asymmetrical haircuts. Everyone is nice and attentive. We got the scramble with local sausage and sweet potato, pork bfast bowl with bacon gravy, southern bfast, and a biscuit sandwich.

Highly recommended by locals who said that we must order the Eggs Bennie...and you must too. Great selections and Dynamite Coffee. Funky, fun environment with spirited wait staff.

You might think there's nothing on the lunch menu that you'd care for, but don't despair! This ordinary sounding fare will be a delicately flavored, perfectly done masterpiece! It's comfort food like you've never had it before. We had the tempeh and trout, both wonderful. It's a friendly place, too. We got to talking to patrons at two nearby tables,... More

I almost hate writing this review because soooooo many magazines already have and as a local it's already hard to get into so here's some tips. Try not to go at peak eating hours - you'll have a wait and it could be 1 hr+. Hence, family style tables (eating with others) it a great thing here. The people the... More

Great coffee, incredibly fresh omlette (especially the mushrooms), biscuits melt in your mouth, fun ambience even with tight seating!

This is my second review of this place and I can tell you that I'll go back next time I am in town. It's consistently good with huge portions and fair prices. Beer was good and meatloaf to die for. Who knew! Meatloaf of all things. This is not your typical meatloaf and neither is their mayo chocolate cake. Don't... More
