Located directly across the street from the aLoft hotel, Chestnut is one of Asheville's gems. The food was excellent and the service outstanding. The ambiance was pleasant. The noise level was a little high. My wife and her twin sister were celebrating milestone birthdays and...More

One of the best lobster bisque's I've ever had from coast to coast. FYI: Essentially all restaurants in the downtown Asheville area very eclectic and bohemian in design. A blend of Austin/San Francisco/ midset, it had a nice but limited menu. Reasonably priced. Would revisit.

Chestnut changes their menu once a month depending on what resources are available local. That was a great draw for us. But unfortunately the food was just okay. The service was just okay too. I had the NY Strip and husband had babyback ribs. The...More

Everything that you get will be very good. The servers are very friendly and attentive. This is not the kind of place to come to if you are very hungry since the portions are rather small. If you normally eat 3 meals a day and...More

We went to Chestnut which was recommended by our B & B owners on July 2nd. Chestnut sits at the top of one of the hills in Asheville, NC. The restaurant decor was upscale and the staff was friendly. My hubby and I had a...More

Their beet salad was delicious! I also had the salmon toast, which was good. Nice atmosphere. My friend had the eggs benedict, which she said was good.

Brunch, lunch and dinner--always predictably good. Great varied menu with nice sized small plates. They have the perfect filet with mashed potatoes and green beans. Something we go back to eat again and again Make a reservation for a yummy brunch.

Chestnut is an American restaurant. We are in a 1920s era building in downtown Asheville, right across for the Aloft hotel and the double decker coffee bus. Parking is plentiful (and cheap) at the public deck under the Aloft Hotel.
