We picked up take-out here around 9:20pm in the evening (they close at 9:30pm) and took it back to the Haywood Park Hotel, right across the street. The woman at the counter helped us select several tasty items to share. Quick, convenient, and delicious.

I had another wonderful meal today at Chai Pani. I have already given a review, but had to do another after a nice lunch today in Asheville. I was able to try a few other items on their menu such as Bhel Puri (vegan) dish. I also tried Chicken Pakoras. Delicious chicken pieces lightly breaded in chickpea batter which included... More

My husband and I just found out recently that we love Indian food so we thought we'd try this place. The service was excellent, the food was so colorful and tasty. We got the Samosa Chaat for an appetizer and I got the Sloppy Jai while my husband got the Kathi Kabab Roll. We loved both our meals. Would definitely... More

I really, really wanted to love this place based on my love of Indian food and the great reviews. Here were the problems.... 1. The okra fries came out cold 2. The pakoras came out cold 3. The chicken thali was so salty we could barely eat it and the sides were watery and bland 4. I told our server... More

Everything we ordered tasted amazing. Staff was friendly and eager to help us figure out what to order. Will definitely visit again next time we are in the area.

This is my boyfriend's favorite place. Lots of good finger-food choices. Good also for vegetarians. Delicious teas too.

I hate leaving a bad review but…my husband and I were pretty disappointed by the food. It was nothing special.. The atmosphere could stand some improvement by simply putting the lights on a dimmer and turning them down a bit so you can enjoy the little oil lamp on the table. The wait staff was caring and friendly. What I... More

Every time I come here I get the vegetarian thali. This is the traditional South Indian fare with amazing service. Being able to eat with your hands and having your American friend try an authentic meal is great. This is a place that you must go to when your in a Asheville. As always this will be on the menu... The chai black tea was superb. I had the Daal Makhani (lentils) and that was excellent! I have had Indian food several times but not Indian street food. The price was good too...about $21 each. I loved it and will return!
