I recommend the hen of the woods with the amazing oxtail marmalade, the duck (much better than the duck I had in in Paris in June), the hanger steak AND the cinnamon gelato. My husband says the hanger steak was the best meat he had ever had. This is my new favorite restaurant!

We went on a quiet Sunday night with limited service for our anniversary. Our waiter was wonderful - writing down the wine we had for dinner as well as making excellent recommendations. The appetizer was a burrata salad that had the most amazing tasting cheese that I can remember. We had the duck as our entree which was truly delicious... More

From the minute we sat down and Robertino took over, we knew we were in good hands. We had a large birthday party group and he handled it seamlessly. I had the best striped bass I have ever had after a delicious crabmeat salad with turnips, apples and black garlic aioli. All 9 of us were thrilled with the quality,... More

My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend in Asheville and did the "Eating Asheville" tour. Our guide, Stewart highly recommend this place so we went ahead and made a reservation. The food was out of this world! The menu varies every day but we started with the crab, which was great, then the squash blossoms which were incredible, I... More

We have eaten a LOT of meals in Italy, and can say with confidence that the folks who are running this restaurant have too. The ingredients, flavors, and style are so similar to ones we've had in Italy, with some local pizazz from Asheville. We enjoyed our first night at Cucina 24 so much that we returned the very next... We booked a reservation here while we were on our food tour with Eating Asheville. The owner booked us a table himself later in the evening since they were almost fully booked. Our group each ordered different meals, and we each sampled it all. We had quail, rabbit, and steak. We even split a pizza, which had figs and goat... More

Four of us girlfriends went to Balsam Mountain and Asheville for the Labor Day Weekend. We decided to do a 'food tour' in Asheville and it was a great idea, gave us a chance to sample foods at 6 different restaurants, all were excellent. One, however, stood out and we went back the next night for dinner. We didn't have... More

Please understand this: Cucina 24 is not a red sauce house! It is fantastic taste with style using the best farm-to-table ingredients! Every dish we had was visually pleasing but more importantly, a taste bud explosion. The highlight was a, I hate to use the word, pizza! But not pizza as you know it. Wafer thin crust with delicate bubbles... More

My family was visiting Asheville from NJ and we were in the mood for good Italian food. We read the reviews on TA and it sounded great. Pros: Excellent service and really delicious food. The waiter checked with us several times to make sure we were comfortable and needed anything. The kitchen is open which is always a plus. Clean... More

Description
Chef & owner Brian Canipelli opened Cucina 24 in 2008 on Wall Street in the center of downtown Asheville, NC. Our kitchen is focused on melding the traditions and philosophies of Italian cookery with ingredients found in the mountains of the American South. We work closely with a number of area farms and our menus reflect produce that they bring to us.
