I went for dinner at Capurro's because it was a conference destination for a large dinner. The combination of Fisherman's Wharf and conference dinner on a budget had me worried, but the restaurant went all out. The prices of drinks were low cost and I noticed they also had a good happy hour. The dinner was well done and the... More

Arrived at Capurros a little before 8 pm on. Friday evening. Restaurant was full but there was only one family in front of us. Was told the wait would be about 15 minutes. We were seated 40 minutes later. Strike 1. I don't mind a wait but I do mind when the amount of time far exceeds what was verbalized.... More

My wife and I stopped in for lunch after a morning enjoying the sights along the Embarcadero. Drawn in by the colorful exterior, we had modest expectations and thought the food would be typical of the tourist restaurants striped throughout the Fisherman's Wharf area. We are pleasantly surprised with the entire experience. The restaurant was cozy and comfortable and the... More

The food at Capurro's is good and the people are great! Like many restaurants on the wharf the seafood at Capurro's is fresh and flavorful. But while you go for the food you stay for the people. The servers are great and the management is very friendly. We'll definitely go back when we're next in the city.

We stopped in on a sunny afternoon, and sat outside and had a beer and a wine and white clam chowder and crab cake, fried calamari and prawn. All ok, staff friendly. Drinks took a very long time to come, chowder too salty for our taste but might be fine for others. Some good history on the walls and brightly... More

I love the history feel and old time San Francisco North Beach feel you get here. Truly one of only two original north beach family owned restaurants left at Fishermans Wharf. The meals are from Nonna Capurro's recipes. I had oven roasted fresh dungenous crab, nonnas clam chowder both were very good. My husband had the snapper and he said... More

We called in for a late lunch and were promptly greeted and seated. Our order was taken by the server and wine promptly delivered. Well that was the last time we saw the server except for when he approached us when half way through our meal and advised that he was going on break and could he bring the bill... More

The service was friendly and efficient. The hostess had a Jekyl/Hyde personality. She was so kind when she was trying to convince diners to stop in, and then was rude to customers once they were seated. Scary! The food was delicious. Clam chowder in a bread bowl was yummy and worth the guilt. The crab salad was fresh but bland.... More

It was wonderful to sit outside and watch the people go by while having the lunch special. Our server was joyful too! The crab sandwich and clam chowder were fantastic. The Caesar salad had fresh ingredients as well, loved the large cheese shavings. This is a great stop near the wharf...and there's a Ben and Jerry's right across the street.... More

We visited on a Sunday afternoon and the place was heaving. Server was over familiar which was a bit off-putting. We ordered pizza, salad, seafood platter. The pizza was thin, crispy with plentiful topping. Would recommend for the food but not necessarily for the style of service.
