We found this cafe/mini diner in the midst of bustling downtown San Francisco, and were very impressed. The menu is extensive, prices totally affordable, food fresh and plentiful and the service impeccable, warm and friendly. In a hurried world we live in these days, it's so refreshing to find places like the New Village Cafe, where one can enjoy a... More

Very quiet around 7-8am, I'm so glad I could taste the wonderful breakfast they do, I think I'm gonna go there everyday of my stay in SF!

We went in for breakfast and we had a proper meal. Service was with a smile, waitress was very nice and friendly to us. The food was good, just simple things with good taste and enough to last for several hours without going hungry. Prices were good, we were at $32 for a protein breakfast (scrambled egg-whites with turkey, toast,... More

We had breakfast in this café five out of the six days we were in San Francisco. Great service, food and good prices. The French toasts were to dye for!!

Since we stayed in a hotel that didn't offer breakfast, we tried some restaurants around. This one was the best! Great staff, fair prices and good music! We loved everything about it.

Absolutely wonderful breakfast/brunch of Apple Cider Pancakes, a regular on the menu, for which I turned down the "Special" Cinnamon Pumpkin Pecan Pancakes [some would say that's a no-brainer, but I struggled with the decision]. The Apple Cider 'cakes came with walnuts and caramelized apples. No gourmet coffee here. The menu specifies Farmer Brothers, a standard restaurant brand, and it... More

We were looking for somewhere independent to eat on our last day in San Francisco, and we knew we wanted a typical American breakfast. A quick search on TripAdvisor uncovered this place for us, and boy; are we glad it did?! You may easily walk past this place but please don't! The food is of an excellent quality for great... More

Lovely cafe on Polk St which was easily reached from our hotel with its ridiculously overpriced offerings. We ate there on four occasions and each time the service was excellent as was the food. There is an extensive choice and prices are very reasonable. Well worth a visit.

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
