Saturday night , great atmosphere, good beer standard (expensive) San Francisco prices. Also appears to be the only place around union square open late at night

I had lunch at Johnny Foley’s many years ago, when we were staying at the near-by San Francisco Hilton Union Square, with greater regularity. We recently stayed there again, and my wife’s meetings finished early, but our flight was rather late out of SFO, and...More

Popped in for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The seafood chowder was really good, but maybe a bit too much bacon (good chowder doesn't need it). Steak sandwich was excellent, and of course, the Guinness, both stout and lager, were on tap and...More

This had a very busy bar scene, and it looked like a lot of people were regulars there. Nice selection of beers and other cocktails. They had a band there that night and we really enjoyed dancing to that.

I have loved the restaurant for years. We stopped for lunch after a long walk and it was amazing. I had a Smithwicks beer and my hubby a Guinness. We split a corned beef and cabbage panini, a bowl of Beef and Guinness soup and...More

Upscale pub just of Union Square with a decent beer/whiskey selection. It was crowded when we arrived, but we were able to squeeze in at the bar for a drink. Bar tenders are impressive... effecient/fast.

Stopped by the restaurant to grab lunch. Typical Irish menu with lots of other choices as well. I had the cottage pie which was very good. The potatoes on top made it look like a dessert. Enough for two to share. Nice bar with lots...More

The Cellar at Johnny's features dueling piano's a few days a week. Our experience included very talented piano players playing several songs you could sing along with or dance to,---or both. The atmosphere and service were very good and it was good times around. However...More

I went there for dinner. The place was quite crowded and noisy, but very comfortable. The food was great, though a little more expensive than average.

I went at night. I don't know if they have shows during the day or only at night. Make sure you make a reservation at the bar, not the restaurant if you want to see the piano show.

good food, good service, not too expensive. Before drinks, for two people $50-$60.
