Just finished a great meal at Le Central, the oldest French restaurant in San Francisco. You know it must be great to have survived so long....great food. great service at an acceptable price.

Great French restaurant where one would envision authors or artists to gather for lunch, chat, drink some wine over solid French cuisine.

This little place holds its own in the busy restaurant area near Union Square. Busy at all meals, and busy midweek when I stopped in. I was alone but given a lovely window table and all the attention that a larger check might deserve. It...More

So classic. Classy. Delicious. Go for white burgundy! Mussels, goat cheese salad. Everything cooked and delivered perfectly by the professional, friendly staff.

Returned for happy hour after a great meal many years ago. We had drinks and apps at the bar. Really enjoyed the smoked salmon deviled eggs, walnut-crusted brie, oysters and crab cake.

well the prices have increased since 1977, the Quality of Food is alway great, service second to none. I alway order casuolette thats been cooking for 15,000 plus days, Bean stew at it's best. You can go wrong with any dish, simply great food

The famous cassoulet was served almost cold, and was sent back for another zap in the microwave. It consisted of beans and what looked like an Oscar Meyer breakfast sausage in it - an there wasn't very much of it either. Similarly the moulles were...More

My husband and I came across this old fashioned French Bistro by chance, only a couple of blocks walk from Union Square and close to the start of China Town. It had a really wonderful charm to it. The service was attentive and the food...More
