Tri Tip French dip sandwich was well prepared and was served quickly, which are two bonuses for a take-away location like this. Clam chowder had tender clams (and no grit!), but is seasoned a bit differently than many chowders. Good chunks of potato.

We wine here for an early venting meal. I has the fruit and nut salad with salmon. The salad leaves were fresh and plentiful. There was a good portion of both fruit and nuts. I had the dressing on the side and added it as needed. The salmon portion was good. It was maybe a little too cooked for my... More

Love the Yik-yak salad with steak=in a big floppy shell of Asian origin, with all kinds of lettuce and such, with your choice of steak or chicken etc. Or a sandwich, same routine on the meats except on a bun of your choice. I'm always here for the Tri-tip, which is their specialty, but they have chicken, port, salmon, and... More

Delicious and affordable. A great variety of burgers and salada, full of flavor. A simple place, with some tables in the outside. Side by side with hotel and many other snacks bars.

This is a good option if you are in the mood for some protein. They have burgers and salads, but the burgers and salads all have the option of adding tri-tip on top. I ordered a burger with tri-tip and the tri-tip was excellent.

The food is solid, but not great. The service really needs to improve, as well as presentation. Still, for the price, it's a good amount of food and a good value. Weekday breakfasts for $4.00-$6.00 can't be topped in this area.

Whenever I visit the Embarcadero Center, which is weekly, I make it a point to stop at Buckhorn Grill ... sometimes I order to go and enjoy the food on my ferry ride back home. All the meals are delicious. The fries are very crispy.

Anything with sliced tri-tip is wonderful--better than Harris Ranch in Coalinga, in the middle of cow country.

A shadow of the parent restaurant in Winters but still a favorite when I need my fix for a tri-tip sandwich for lunch in the Financial Dsitrict. I come here once a week. Food is good, service is quick and friendly.

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
