I'd rate Laurel Court Restaurant as our favorite breakfast brunch. The atmosphere is great (hey - it's the Fairmont) and the food is even better. Omelet station, incredible pecan sweet sticky buns, eggs Benedict and scrambled, the other stuff (potatoes, bacon, sausages, ete, etc.)...and an incredible selection of fruit, breads, smoothies, smoked salmon, cereal, wow! Just one word - yum!

We were guests at The Fairmont, and were disappointed by the Laurel Court Restaurant and Bar. On our first night, we invited a friend over for drinks, only to be treated poorly. The host area is undefined, so we sat at a table only to be given dirty looks by the waiter. I asked for a menu, which I received,... More

This is an elegant lobby-level restaurant and bar. Their menu is brief but wide-ranging. Two recommendations - The onion soup is some of the best I've ever had and the High Tea is an experience worth having.

Located in the Fairmont hotel. Wide selection of treats on a large buffet. Or order from the menu. This is a rather large venue with too little wait staff. Be prepared to wait for coffee and if ordering from menu for your meal to arrive.

As part of the AMEX Platinum Card reservation, we had breakfast every day. The buffet is huge and has many choices from fruit to omelets and everything in between. For a buffet, the hot items really do stay hot. The fruit is very fresh and the breads are obviously bake in house.

If you want a $46 steak that is way over cooked and is what you'd expect from somewhere like Applebee's then this is your place. My boyfriend had the bass and it tasted dry and like something unflavored from a fish market. The service was decent but don't waste your time, money, tastebuds, or a meal of your life here.... I did not think there was a wide selection, and I found the food was barely warm. The bacon was plain cold. I stopped eating after one small plate. My adult son had ordered a latte so I pointed at it and asked the waitress if it was included in the $34.00 charge; she replied that it did. So I... More

After a long flight, we checked in to our hotel and hoped to get lunch at the Laurel Court. Our waiter was great. He offered us a tasting of wine, and when one bottle was not up to par, he immediately got another bottle. We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings while watching a football game on the television above the bar.... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
