The secret here is: despite catering to a posh audience, it really is not so pricey. The service was efficient and pleasant. Appetizers were fair values. Companions loved their lamb and steak entrees. The burrata was a pleasant, decadent surprise. The pizza, despite their own...More

Delicious pizzas and great value for money! However, bottles of wine expensive and small range. A pizza is on average $18 and a bottle of wine is minimum $45.

We recently visited San Francisco for a short stay before sailing to Alaska and had heard wonderful things about A16. Having recently traveled throughout Italy on a food and wine tour, we were curious to find pizza like we had in Tuscany and Sicily. A16...More

After reading good reviews we visited the restaurant on a monday night without reservation and didn't have to wait. Pizza's are very large here and there's a nice selection of wine. Very friendly service.

We did not eat here but only sat at the bar to taste some wine. The bar staff were very helpful in organising a tasting of their us wine selection. Nice atmosphere, really buzzy on a Tuesday night

We went to this restaurant not knowing what it would be like. It is expensive but worth it! The pizzas are really amazing! I would recommend ordering one pizza at the time, share it and order another one. The service really depends on which waiter...More

We did early bird dining because we had theater tickets. Service was a bit slow but we may have just been pressed for time. The food was excellent and well worth the visit.

My husband and I went to A16 on a recent trip to San Francisco as it had been recommended to us by a friend. We loved everything about it! The restaurant itself is in a great area (called the Marina) with tons of pretty shops....More

It's an upscale restaurant with a really long wine list and knock down, drag out good pizza. Also, if you're feeling adventurous try the burrata, it's a fresh mozzarella appetizer. The ambiance was terrific AND the staff was great. Very fun date night place. It's...More

Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful
backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to
the Marina. Originally the location for the
Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose
remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much
of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a
world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a
jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city.

There was at least one gluten free pasta I remember on the menu. But you will probably do best by calling the restaurant directly for any special dietary concerns.

A16 is a restaurant and wine bar bringing the delicious and hospitable traditions of lively Campania to San Francisco. The chic, rustic/modernist venue is named after the motorway that transverses the South of Italy. The restaurant features wood oven-fired Neapolitan Pizza and other specialties of Campania such as Maccaronara with ragu napoletana and house-made ricotta salata. The wine bar serves 40 wines by the glass and half bottle carafe. The list is 60 percent Italian, mostly from the South, and the other 40 percent is New World, celebrating premiere Italian varietals grown in California along with many California wines.
