I live here in the San Francisco Bay Area -- born and raised. This restaurant is old school formal (love it), expensive, and so worth it. I only come here on very special occasions. There's a reason this restaurant has been around for awhile. Service, food, ambiance -- all perfection.

This is a one of a kind restaurant, where everything is perfect. Fabulous, interesting food and extraordinary service. My family held a birthday celebration at the restaurant and the food, wine and service was perfect. To top it off, one of the guests left an important folder at the garage across the street - not only did the staff retrieve... More

We had a wonderful meal here for a special occasion. The service was impeccable and the food truly spectacular. If you like steak tartare, have it here. The gnocchi were also magnificent. Then be sure to share the unusual Italian cheese course. Can't wait for another visit.

This is a classy high end Italian restaurant. Food and service is top quality, beautifully presented and exquisitely flavoured. The Prix Fixe menu was perfect. The wine list is extensive and expensive if you want it to be. We enjoyed superb local Pinot Noir from Kosta Browne. Thoroughly recommended for special occasion or serious business.

This was in my top five restaurant experiences ever! My partner and I did the five course menu and loved it, the food was simply devine... Would highly recommend the gnocchi (which was heaven on a plate) and the chocolate mousse. The service was impeccable and the wine recommendations were sensational. It's pricey but worth every penny.

We visited Acquerello's in August of 2014 for our 25th wedding anniversary and experienced a wonderful evening. As many other reviewers have stated Acquerellos was an elegant, incredible dining experience. The cuisine was, of course, excellent, but the highlight of the evening for us was the ambiance and the service. Thanks to all the staff for making this a night... More

I had one of the most incredible dining experiences of my life here. The service is outstanding, absolute perfection. The food was exceptional, prepared to perfection. The Sommelier knew exactly what to recommend and served it with elegance and confidence. The beautiful, comfortable finding room felt more like being in a an elegant home. I cannot wait to return.

A great late dinner with a fabulous wine list. Even as the last reservation of the night, my duck was perfectly prepared. The three amuse bouches which showed up while we were deciding on wine and menu choices were just amazing. A mussel with foam and a lovely pea custard. This was proceeded by a tiny beignet with an herbed... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
