The Lab has become a culinary event space, operated by Feastly. Today we returned for one of our favorite "events", the Scratch-Made Bagels and Lox Brunch. The Chef is Andrew, and he does an amazing job. Everything is perfect. The bagels are warm, not because they are toasted, but rather because they come directly out of the oven. Add to... More

It's San Fran so every location is amazing but while sipping fresh French pressed coffee and looking out the window it's an amazing escape from reality. Inside is this mix of art and science and then an amazing tray of pastries arrives (this is course 1 of 6)! It was Sunday so we indulged in glasses of white wine with... More

This is a very late review, but the food was so good I can still taste it in my mouth almost a year later! Came here for our 1st wedding anniversary after hubby bought tickets online for one of the tasting nights. When we showed up we realized that it was a private event for an Alumni, Michael and Jacklyne... More

Michael Recchiuti, best known for his chocolates, has opened an intimate dining venue near his home in the rapidly evolving Dogpatch neighborhood of SF. His Taste Project series of dinners pairs food & wine with various other media - tonight's was actually glassblowing, in partnership with the Public Glass studio just a few minutes south near 3rd St., but other... We have been customer since they opened. Located in dog patch neighborhood, it is usually easy to find parking. Don't let the name fool you as this a real restaurant and food place. In fact they are changing their signs to "The Lab" so you know that they serve food. This is a small place but we never had issues... More

Attractive small cafe/restaurant on 22nd street in the Dog Patch section. It is close to the new craft and design museum. Nice spot for a casual lunch. We ate outside and it was very pleasant. Not a big fancy place but good food in a pleasant atmosphere with attentive service at a reasonable price

Chocolate Lab is now simply "The Lab" to emphasize the many savory options they have. The desserts are amazing, but the lunch and dinner items are amazing too. Usually a limited dinner menu of 4-5 entrees and some smaller plates, but everything is very high quality and foodie-ready for a very reasonable price. Good wines by the glass and bottled... More

The restaurant opens on Sunday's at 11 for brunch. They have a very small inside seating area and quite a few tables outside. We sat outside as there was a puppy in our party. Service is very good and very friendly. The menu changes depending on what the chef is wanting to cook that day. We had a variety things...a... More

After visiting the nearby Craft Museum we came upon this wonderful small cafe in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco. It was a beautiful day and we sat at an outside table for lunch. While there is no view there was a nice street with charming houses to observe on the side where we sat versus the busy street side.... More

Great place for a sharing savory dishes and splitting mind blowing delicious chocolate desserts. This place is tiny, the food is well executed and there is more than chocolate to enjoy. Cheese plate had an unexpected and fantastic chocolate twist. Don't go if you expect super huge portions and endless breadsticks. Do go for quality food in sensible portions. The... More

Description
Jacky and Michael Recchiuti wanted to bring a little bit of adventure from their travels to Dogpatch in San Francisco. As homage to this hamlet, they wanted to coalesce the character of this neighborhood with the alchemy of what they do, thus the name theLab. To take it a step further reestablishing the "experimental tasting dinners" from time past ...TheTaste Projects, partnering with culinary compatriots who have like-minded philosophies in creating food that's innovative, daring with humor. This shared passion completes the evolution in finding the right formula of the cozy cafe space of theLab.
