I stopped by A La Turca for an early dinner on the way to a special event nearby. It is a relatively small, simple, clean and friendly Turkish restaurant, with a diverse menu. I chose the Lamb Chop Dinner, and it was delicious. Three meaty lamb chops, served with tasty rice, a good salad and some really delicious pide bread.... More

There's not many Turkish places in the bay area and once I saw this I wanted to try it, really bad. I was greeted and welcomed very generously and was given water at the moment. It was a very relaxed atmosphere, the area is not the best but it's okay. The food tasted very fresh and tasty. I had the... More

So, I was not really impressed with the food, although my LA companion praised it highly. It may have something to do with the fact that I am from NYC and there are many GREAT Turkish places around here. However, the waitress was nice and attentive. The food arrived quickly. Although the salad which typically comes with feta did not... More

To me, it's a neighborhood restaurant. To others, especially tourists, it's a bit off the beaten path. They have a nice wall mural inside and seating outside. If you like Turkish food I highly recommend this restaurant. I've been there more than once and have tried several menu items. I've always been happy and the service is good. Try it.

This little restaurant serves good authentic Turkish food in a simple setting. But, the surrounding neighborhood is pretty sketchy and not suitable for everyone.

Today my wife and I were in The City (San Francisco), and decided to try a turkish restaurant we'd heard about. We went for lunch. It's located in the tenderloin, which may put some people off-don't let it. The food was really good. I've forgotten the names, but we had meat and cheese baked into their homemade bread. For dessert... More

Visited this place with friends today and were very pleased! Most of my friends tried Turkish coffee and cuisine for the first time, so for me it was important to get true Turkish coffee. This place had real Turkish cooks and servers, the coffee and cuisine was wonderful! All my friends enjoyed coffee and I was very glad, that there... More

It's a bit of a dive. But the food is good and the prices are reasonable. Good place to go in the tenderloin and good baba ganoush and Donner kebab.

Ordered a pide and a gyro, waitress was acting oddly. Seemed reoccupied or like she did not understand the order. Other diners got a bowl of bread, but not us. Got the pide very quickly, but no gyro! People that came in later were served and still no gyro. I am a very polite diner, and my sister went to... More

I visited this place according to an advice of a local friend during my SF trip. The place, as any other Turkish restaurant in USA, authentic and decorated with Turkish motifs. They present a diverse variety of food in Turkish cuisine. I had a lentil soup and Beyti kebab both of beach are very good. The bread used in USA... More
