I was in San Francisco for a friend's wedding and kept reading positive reviews of Dottie's so a friend and I decided we HAD to try it. We waited in line about 45 minutes, but were seated pretty quickly once we made it in the door. She had the Smoked Whiskey-Fennel Sausage, Mushroom And Baby Spinach Scramble and I had... More

And it never disappoints. Breakfast scrambles and homemade pastries are the best. Lines are long but worth it.

I've heard many positive comments about their pancakes that I decided to give them a try. The place is good, full at the mornings to grab a bite before work. I ordered three of the famous pancakes, expecting them to be super fluffy, but they weren't. Pancakes looked deflated and had an odd flavor. However, all the other customers' food... More

Went here the other morning with my dad, the food was great and our waitress was amazing. I got the smoked whiskey fennel sausage scramble and my dad got the chirizo scramble. Both of us really enjoyed the meals. I can honestly say it is the first time I've had breakfast anywhere and didn't add salt and pepper or hot... More

Hi Went there this morning at 8am, angry guy at front of house was rude, did not answer questions and got upset when we saw a table free and asked if we could have it rather than a bar seat. He made us carry our cups over As walking to the table he said "next time you wait in line... More

Two words: split plates Huge portions served from a menu including classic egg fare and more eclectic options -- like the pulled pork scramble The place is quite popular so be prepared to queue up outside -- but it is well worth your time, money and waste line...

I thought they opened at 7 AM- they opened at 7:30. Our taxi driver was not sure he wanted to drop us off at 6:55 because they looked closed and it's not the best part of the city. We got out and walked around, found the Powell- Market turn around for the cable car which we were going to ride... More

Arrived before 8 am which put me ahead of the inevitable line that forms. This place has legions of devoted fans...and now I know why. Tried the frittata special (see photo below for ingredients) and up ordered the grilled chili cheddar corn bread with pepper jelly. Generous portions and flowing refills of excellent coffee. Next time I'm in town I'll... More

My sister and I went there for breakfast, and we noticed the flies hoovering overhead as soon as we walked in. As we were let to the back of the restaurant, we realized that the flies were pretty much hoovering over everyone's heads. It was pretty scary, but as long as you looked straight ahead and didn't glance up, it... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
