Ok you might not put gluten free vegan food on your dining top 10 but you would be making a mistake to miss this place. The food is healthy but delicious. Prices are excellent and if you hang around for the entertainment you will enjoy.

not a gine dine place, pretty small and just one staff serving. Food gets three points the place 2 points. If you look for something little bit different try this. On the picture portobello mushroom dish

My husband is not vegan but loved the lasagna. I loved having too much to choose from! The cheescake dessert was my favourite. The place is small with a great atmosphere.

The food here is all vegan and mostly gluten free and organic, a lot of it is also raw. It was excellent food - we had the pizza and the zucchini spaghetti. My only complaint is that it was very expensive. We did not go...More

We loved everything we ordered from the menu and came back multiple times during our short stay in San Francisco and even ordered take-out one night. The owners were super friendly and offered a great music show, even in the middle of the week early...More

Great Latin music with historical commentary by some true legends - the owners of Pena Pachamama! This small and intimate restaurant has a funky, indie feeling, and they really make the history of South American music come alive...from soulful ballads to crazy drum rhythms, we...More

No idea why this has 4 stars, this place is great for vegetarians, vegans or if you're like me, lactose intolerant. The staff were super friendly, the food was great and when we couldn't decide what dessert we wanted, they made a platter for us!...More

Well firstly I should say we were there as part of a food walking tour so only sampled a portion of food. It was the kale, which was not to my liking as it had a dairy free sauce on top. There were also other...More

My husband and I had such fun here tonight! Was knocked out by Cuban guest pianist Chuchito Valdés, regular Eddie Navia, and the Pachamama Band. A lot of talent and energy on that stage! The menu surprised me because I didn't expect a two sided...More

Loved this South American restaurant that stayed open for us to eat and chat well beyond closing time. Was here last week. Pena has a romantic ambience and lounge feel to its seating arrangements. All in all I will repeat when I'm next in San...More

North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian
ristorante come together to create the charming
neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.

Description
Organic food, gluten-free, live music 'One of those magical places, a little island of the future where those who enter her doors are forever transformed by the spirit of the music and dance that takes them in. You’ll find it on a little side street in San Francisco’s old Latin Quarter somewhere between Chinatown, Fisherman’s Wharf and endless Italian late night cafes. ' A Landmark Location In 1918 it housed one of San Francisco’s most important speakeasies and became one of the most famous restaurants in the city. Peña Pachamama was formerly Amelio’s, a famous fine dining establishment where Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe had their wedding dinner. The Kennedys were frequent guests. In the upstairs dining room Clark Gable and Carole Lombard rendezvoused.
