Here you will get an amazing experience where east meets west. You will get either western style dishes with an Asian twist or the other way around. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable so use them.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. Good thing too, because, just walking by, you probably wouldn't think of looking at it twice. The entrance is small but the restaurant goes into the building quite a bit. They have made the most with the room they have though. Make sure you have a reservation. We had a dinner... More

Awesome food! Small restaurant, but great flavor in their dishes! We could not stop ordering all their small plates and salads! We will be back!

A incredible experience to try one of the best asian fusion spots in San Francisco; the place its kind of tiny, but the food its amazing; the service is very nice and fast; and the prices are very suitable!

Ended up at The House after a tour around Chinatown. The food was amazing, the appetizer of sushi had a delicious dipping sauce. The dumplings were amazing. Small restaurant, reservations are recommended.

Being a very tiny restaurant with colossal flavors and prodigious service The House resides in North Beach exuding excellence in Asian Fusion cuisine and well-chosen wine list. Neither Barbie nor I were very hungry so we shared a Caesar Salad with Shrimp Puffs and the Sea Bass. No problem, no extra charge for sharing either. The salad was tasty and... More

Tucked away on upper Grant, above Broadway, it is a cozy, unique bistro for seating for (I'm guessing) about 25 people. The dishes are reasonable priced, but the portions are large. The chef could give lessons to other San Francisco restaurants on the art of presentation. For lunch I had the salmon salad which was delicious and perfectly cooked. A... More

Took my wife, son and his fiance. Been thinking of trying this place since we passed it on a trip to SFO last year. This is an incredibly noisy and cramped space with dimmed lighting that makes it hard to read the menu. We were all in a festive mood, but our server was harried, unsmiling and not in a... More

Delicious, great flavors, unique! We loved everything. Charming hip city setting, great north beach vibe.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
