Wanted a quick dinner after ice skating in Union Square. Awesome diner with simple yet yummy burgers. Basic set up but great food, good choice of beers.

The burger was good, the bun was oversized, but that was good because the burger was very drippy. I ordered medium rare, it was red but still pipping hot! Perfect. The fries were ok.

We arrived at around 9:30am on a Saturday morning and were seated immediately. When we left, there was maybe a 3-5 minute wait for a table, if that. Food was your standard diner breakfast. Large portions though, so good for them. No complaints. Save yourself the hassle of one of those wait an hour type joints and go here. You... More

This place is TINY. I'm guessing it seats maybe thirty people at a stretch, including the spots at their breakfast bar. We went with a party of seven around 10:30 on a weekend and had to huddle awkwardly by the door until we were seated, maybe a 15 minute wait? The line was out the door by the time we... More

Great throw back diner with hearty food and and quick service. Portions are huge so go with a big appetite, I had the pancakes with bacon which were delicious. Refillable coffee and lots to choose from. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite.

We needed a burger, and Mo's was outstanding. Hearty dinner, tasty shake, this is what everyone needs. Classic diner atmosphere, no pressure. Great neighbourhood to walk around in and explore.

We walked about a half mile to get to this place rather than eating in the hotel restaurant and I'm so glad that we did. They cook over an open charcoal grill. The spicy pork chop was fantastic others in a party got him a cheese omelette it was wonderful. It's a small place.

Skip the line at Mama's and make your way to Mo's. I did and glad I did. Small place, open kitchen, counter space and tables. I enjoyed great blueberry pancakes, bacon and coffee. You can see pancakes in the picture. I'm a big guy and typically finish my meals. I took half of the order home and enjoyed again later... More

Went to MO's on a recommendation, And it was spot on. Had excellent banana Pancakes which lived up to how we thought They'd be. Other brunch items looked Very appealing, which I would definitely try Next time. If you go on a Sunday, get there Early, since there's always a line.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
