Skip the line at Mama's and make your way to Mo's. I did and glad I did. Small place, open kitchen, counter space and tables. I enjoyed great blueberry pancakes, bacon and coffee. You can see pancakes in the picture. I'm a big guy and typically finish my meals. I took half of the order home and enjoyed again later... More

Went to MO's on a recommendation, And it was spot on. Had excellent banana Pancakes which lived up to how we thought They'd be. Other brunch items looked Very appealing, which I would definitely try Next time. If you go on a Sunday, get there Early, since there's always a line.

For hangover hunger, this is my spot. The burgers are tops, and the breakfast burrito can easily be shared for 2 amazing meals. And definitely don't skip the crispiest, fluffiest home fries ever!

Stopped by for a late dinner and enjoyed some good burgers. The classic diner feel was welcoming and enjoyable. The place stayed busy.

Went here because the Mama's line was too long. Inga seated us right away and was on top of the water and coffee the whole time. Just when I thought I needed some more coffee she was there, like she was reading my mind. Had the eggs and spicy sausage which was good but was really floored by the Eggs... More

We came here upon the suggestion of a local whom we sat next to during the Italian Pride/Columbus Day parade. We'd asked her where to go for breakfast and she said that Mo's is where they always go. It was a $6 Uber ride from our hotel at Fisherman's Wharf. The breakfast is good and hearty. Nothing fancy or overly... More

Old American style restaurant in North beach, maybe the best burgers I've had in the city so far. Burgers are HUGE and delicious. Also had brunch there once, I had Benedict eggs with smashed potatoes, it was great. Definitely one of my favorite burger places in SF.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
