Famished after our drive to the city. Stopped by for a snack and a drink. Had the melted cheese in a iron pot with toast. Delicious. Good martini and wine. Nice bar and will go back for a real meal.

We always make a stop at Absinthe before the ballet or symphony. The bar is very convenient to stop in and have soup, salad, cocktails and even caviar. It gets really crowded but the vibe is great and I always enjoy the time that I spend...More
Our review of this “Brasserie” on Hayes street, SF, would have rated 5 stars had we not made reservations and come back for post concert nosh. Pre concert cocktails and cheese plate at the bar was outstanding, real attentive bartenders, my wife’s champagne last of...More
This restaurant is outstanding, some of the best food we found over a 6 day stay. Right up there with what you will find in Paris; make sure to get reservations as it fills up quickly at lunch and in the evening. You will not...More
2nd visit with 12 months between; feels like 4 weeks. You can hardly get more French outside of France than Absinthe. Cool interior, attentive and professional waiters plus the food classics you never get tired of. I will be back next year.

This is a wonderful French café near the Opera House and Symphony Hall. It seems to be very “hip" as most of the patrons were young enough to be our kids. We ate brunch there and the food was very good. The French onion soup...More
Stylish restaurant with a fun atmosphere with a good menu in a great location. I've never had a bad meal here.
Very good service, nice ambience, popular place for drinks and dinner (separate quiet room). Delicious food, served in a timely manner but we never felt rushed. Loved the roasted beet salad and butternut squash ravioli. Perfect pre-Opera destination.
