Found this place by accident on holiday. Essentially we went for dinner in little Italy but the specific restaurant (fussy gluten free girlfriend involved) but of course it was full with a massive wait so we started walking. Got lost in China town (unhappy hunger girlfriend involved) decided to walk back towards the bay (downhill – moderately more cheerful girlfriend... More

Good place to stop for a drink. Looks like they had decent food too but we didn't try it. I had an Irish coffee which was pretty good. We were actually visiting Chinatown in the morning and this is the only bar we could find open. Not a big place but it was a nice stop.

This was the closest Irish pub so we chose it for Irish coffee. The coffee was okay. I asked to have Fireball in mine instead of Irish whiskey. I had expected it to be the same or more than the standard Irish whiskey coffee, but to my surprise it was cheaper. This is an okay place for a quick drink,... More

As a resident of Boston for the past 35 years, my bar for Irish establishments is high. Irish Times exceeded that easily. The staff is wonderful, the interior is exactly what you want when you're in the mood for a proper pub, and the beer and food selections are excellent. I spent a week in San Francisco and visited this... More

Even on a busy Friday evening, this place had quick service with the drinks and the food. The staff is extremely friendly and the fish and chips cooked to perfection.

Great local pub for a quick bite to eat. The service was so nice and quick. The atmosphere is a bar scene so may not be for a family with young children but is great for teenage and above. Would recommend!

My father and I chose the casually relaxed Irish Times for its outside tables in the warm sunshine, its cold beer, ... and because we wanted some insight to our upcoming trip to Ireland. All our boxes got checked before we left. A half dozen outside tables looked comfortable, and because it was 2 pm, half were empty, but we... More

Had an early morning visit for the Euro 2016 football. Fairly average greasy spoon full English breakfast. Lots of TV screens for watching games and a reasonable selection of beer.

Had dinner here tonight. Not packed because of Labour Day weekend, but a fair number of tables taken, with just one waitress to attend to them. Hats off to her. She did a wonderful job and deserved every penny of the biggish tip we left her. We had 3 large Smithwick draughts, a Reuben served with enormous quantity of chips... More

I went to this pub because it was one of the only places in the Financial District open for dinner on a Sunday after I had just gotten in from the airport. I ordered some beer and a burger. The burger was pretty good and the fries were excellent. They also have a few big screens so this is a... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
