Living in the city, I've had the chance to taste all of the craft coffees (Ritual, Four Barrel, etc) but I have to say blue bottle always gets me! The price is hefty for the size but the taste makes it all worth it.

Going here made me a bit grumpy: Overpriced baked goods. A Line. A long time to get my green tea. Turned out it was Japanese green tea, which should have been noted somehow on the sign board. It's unusual to have Japanese green tea as the only green tea option in a U.S. cafe. Best things about this place: people... More

Rich tasting coffee and pricey too. Ok food. Would have rather waited to get food somewhere else but would come back to try their other coffees.

We ordered a breakfast sandwich and the avocado toast, with a cappuccino and a drip coffee. It was perfect. Just delicious. Just the right amount of food. My cappuccino was fabulous, and lovely to look at. My son said the coffee was acidic but smooth. It tasted great to me. I would definitely come back here. Busy, but we didn't... More

Great coffee and food (the avocado toast is perfect for two) plus the people watching can't be beat-a great mix of real working people, pretentious hipsters, and the street people rolling through Mint Plaza. Which is the only downside-very sketchy location thanks to some of the street people. If on foot come from 5th unless you like a little more... More

The place here is quite big compared to the one I know in the Ferry Building in SF - it was packed with students working away on their laptops. The decor is very minimalistic, but I guess most people don't come here for that. The coffee had a great taste and unlike the location in SF, the queue was very... More

We found Blue Bottle when looking for the best coffee in downtown San Francisco. It did not disappoint at all! More than coffee tasting, going to Blue Bottle was an experience. You get to see the coffee baristas in action and I couldn't help wishing I could taste every single coffee they made! An intense coffee flavour, to be tasted... More

I preface this by admitting Im Australian & in general our coffee preferences are for the "Italian" style. After a month in the US , mostly in the deep south, where its all iced tea y'all, a pleasure to be able to get a real cafe latte or double esspresso - so I did 3 mornings in a row. A... More

Best coffee I have had in San Franscisco. True lattes and flat whites coupled with excellent food. Try the Morrocan Eggs.

Bases on reviews , we stopped here for our fix. Line out the door, but it moved pretty efficiently. Drinks were well crafted and delicious, and the batista were efficient and friendly. A great caffeine stop while in the city.

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
