We tried a few different Japanese restaurants in this area and this was by far the best! Would highly recommend. Great service, delicious food and fabulous menu options!

Had the Gyoza and the Ramen with extra noodles. Was very good and tasty, however service was a little slow( there was only 4-5 other people in the restaurant when we came in, and were asked if we wanted a table(Duh) Took a while to get the bill, and did not get checked on often.

The food and service here is fantastic and they have an incredible range of sakes. The staff were also very knowledgeable about the sakes which made our visit a great dining dining experience AND an educational experience. This is a MUST do in San Fran.

I have to agree with previous reviews that the pick of the menu was the bacon mochi. The bacon is charred to perfection and the dish is rich, packed full of flavor and melt in the mouth fabulous! The Gyoza dumplings were excellent as were the Chicken Thighs. The Hapa Roll and Ebi Tempura roll were Ok. They just lacked... More

Japanese Izakaya in the Nob Hill area. Unanimous pick for best dish was the bacon mochi-- which was fried mochi wrapped in crispy bacon. SO DEEEELICIOUS we had to order a second one! The special was miso- glazed black cod which was very delicate & tasty. We also enjoyed the hamachi sashimi, beef short ribs, tempura roll, shiso fried rice... More

Visited San Francisco for a day to get grounded, just to realize, that I love the Las Vegas heat (it was cold, windy, but sunny in San Francisco). I took a walk from the Palace of Fine Art, and passed this fabulous inviting restaurant. Sara was my server - she was just wonderful. I gave her permission to choose two... More

The food is amazing. Period. First, the bartender directed us toward the Mu sake. It was fantastic!! Next, the food was amazing. The bacon Mochi was so good. The Kushiyaki Japanese charcoal grill is very authentic. They also have draft Japanese beers! Enjoy!!

This is without a doubt the worst service I have ever had. The waitresses that evening seemed to be having some disagreement through out the night and did not hide this from customers. Then no one served us for most of the night, every time we wanted to order drink, food, pay the bill we had to get up from... More

Everyone raves about this Japanese restaurant, unfortunately we can't. We tried the crab croquettes, which were ok, but a bit glutinous. But then it was downhill. The Brussels sprouts had heavy dark soy, the cod special had heavy dark soy, and the chicken wings had the same! The result was overpowering, almost inedible salty food. Very disappointing. Price was round... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
