We first stumbled across Tacolicious on Chestnut street about 4 years ago. It was in a small venue and we sat at the bar by the kitchen. The food was incredible and the wait staff were brilliant, helping us navigate what to choose. On a...More

We ended up at Tacolicious to get a drink as we were waiting for another restaurant. The drinks were good and the menu looked great too, so we stayed for dinner. We were happy we did! The food and service was great, and we really...More

I can't believe I paid $40 for 4 rather greasy over cooked beef MINI tacos and one on the rocks no name brand margarita sitting at the bar! I did and won't do it again. I also was not served chips until after the meal...More

This is a fun place for non-traditional tacos and cocktails (if you're into that). It's more upscale than your regular taco place and you're going to get something new and different: my favorite is the raw tuna and avocado tostada. They also have an adequate...More

Great tacos: We tasted four different types and all were very good. Location is also pretty nice with stylish seating.

So this place has some good highs but also some complete misses on the food. First the bad. We ordered queso con chilli. We got a couple of veggies on top of some melted cheese. After first taste my girlfriend immediately said, this is just...More

Returned after our initial visit to San Francisco and this place is still just as good as the first time we went! They have some of the best guacamole and tacos we've ever had anywhere. The tacos have a lot of filling, so three is...More

Their 3pm - 6pm Happy Hour on weekdays is a great excuse to try their awesome Margaritas, salty and sweet. The food is fresh and tasty, standard taco fare really. Overall a relaxed, cool vibe.

We visited Tacolicious after our Uber driver had recommended it to us. Battling jet lag, we were happy to have our order taken quickly and our food served in a reasonable time too. Decent selection of beers and the cocktails looked nice too. Shame we...More

North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian
ristorante come together to create the charming
neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.

Tacolicious is by no means a traditional taqueria-you won't find burritos here. What started out in the summer of 2009 as a little taco stand at the Thursday Ferry Plaza Farmers Market with a fittingly frivolous name, has become a sit-down, cocktail-driven restaurant, 120 tequilas strong. Tacos anchor a menu that extends to dishes such as beet salad with grapefruit and pumpkin seeds, tuna tostadas, grilled squid served Veracruz-style, albondigas, shrimp a la diabla, and toasted coconut flan. Like many native Californians, Mexican food is in us. Though we grew up traveling to Mexico regularly (and still do), it took a trip to Mexico City-where the food is served in settings as sophisticated and urban as you'll find anywhere in the world-for us to realize that tacos don't have to be relegated to street food or a corner mom-'n'-pop. We're proud to be based in San Francisco, a town where the words local, sustainable and organic have become so redundant that they make you want to yawn. But just in case you were wondering about our menu: The answer is almost always, "Yes, yes and yes."
