We visited this restaurant for the first time with a group of seven. Rather than ordering entrees we followed the suggestion of the wonderful server (Sabrina) and ordered a variety of small and medium plates, one large plate, and several desserts - all to share. It was a GREAT suggestion as we got to taste so many delicious foods! By... More

I wanted to like this place, but there were simply too many issues that added up to a very dismal experience. Food was okay. Not great, but definitely not bad. A little pricey for the quality. Most people enjoyed their meal, with the minestrone soup a notable dish. Service was slow, even though the place was only half full. Getting... More

Jumped into Credo on a whim to wait out the rain and ended up having the best time. The food & service are excellent. It's so easy to make friends here! I've been back twice since that unplanned visit and every time is just as good if not better. Even the space has a great (creative) energy to it. I... More

Wow what a great find!! The place is small so be sure to make a reservation. This restaurant will be on my go to list in San Fran from now on. The food was stellar, had an awesome new wine and the service made me want to stay all night.

A very contemporary and delicious Italian restaurant. It was an incredible dining experience from our separate courses to desert!

Can't say for sure about the entire menu because I was there for a business event that was catered. Had good drinks upstairs at the bar (beware, wine can cost $30 a glass). We were in the basement and it was perfect for casual conversation, food and drinks.

Credo is a small, well-decorated modern Italian restaurant that we chose based on positive reviews. The reviews didn't do it justice. Although we didn't have reservations, we were seated quickly. The service was excellent. The food was tremendous, from the meatball appetizer to the chicken lasagna with its cheesy, mushroom-filled core to the birthday candle decorated gelato. The menu states... More

I was visiting SF on business, and I had dinner at Credo with colleagues - we were a group of 10. Service was excellent, and the food very fresh an tasty. One of my colleagues had a wheat allergy, but this was not a problem as they had gluten free pasta. I had a fish dish (halibut, if I remember... More

But terrible service came close to ruining an otherwise wonderful dinner. Restaurant was short-staffed that night and waitress was clueless but once we were relegated to service by the bartender, the evening improved...wonderful meatball appetizer, great spareribs, salads and entrees...the tagliatelli bolognese and the chicken lasagne were outstanding.....all topped off with a deliciously strong espresso

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
