Marlowe's is the kind of restaurant you hope to find when you're visiting a city: out of the way, filled with locals enjoying good conversation with good food and good service. Although we didn't have a reservation on a Saturday night, our party of three was greeted warmly and seated almost immediately. The service was great with our server bringing... More

We were told to arrive at 2pm latest to get their brunch menu. We arrived at 2pm sharp - we crossed down with our baby - only to be told that we had to be there at 1:45pm. No effort whatsoever to accommodate us, although we were there with our 6 month old. Overrated and obnoxious.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Marlowe. As a first timer, I was excited to see if all of the great reviews I’d heard were true. In a nutshell, I had wonderful experience. The atmosphere was intimate, yet casual. The tables were close together so if you’re looking for privacy, this might not be the venue for you.... More

Service is always spot on here, fast, friendly, professional. The food is creative and just the right portions for a business lunch. Marlowe is a favorite I return to whenever possible

We went here on a Saturday evening with friends. The entire experience was wonderful and I highly recommend it! We had an 8:30 reservation. We arrived a few minuets early and the hostess was warm and welcoming; our table was not yet free, but it opened up around 8:35p. I was impressed that those waiting for tables could order drinks... Food was terrible , shrimp cocktail was sent back, Hamburg was sent back, porkchop was hard as a piece of stone, my grand son could not it that, fish did not have any flavor, cookies could broke my tooth, coffee never came, We were served in a storage room called patio, narrow tables, uncomfortable chairs, terrible heater , and fake... When you look to another table and see the same entree that you ordered and its appeal and presentation is so different, you know there is a problem. The Egg Benedict was not poached and came as a blob over a very mushy crab cake. Very disappointed with taste and overall appeal. I was hungry and left half of it... More

Had a lovely early dinner at Marlowe's this past weekend after a show! Two of my co workers had recommended the restaurant very highly. The Marlowe burger is delicious! Bacon, cheddar cheese onions... It did not even need any mustard or ketchup! We started with the flash-fried Brussels sprouts seasoned with sea salt and lemon zest. They were delicious... My... A few friends and I went to Marlowe last weekend, as we had heard very good things about it. We were not disappointed! The food and the service were both fantastic! Our server, Jeff, really helped us with menu selections and provided outstanding service throughout the meal. He was very friendly and attentive. We started with bloody Marys - be... More

I went to Marlowe two times, both times with friends. It is a very small space which fills up quickly. That being said, they do offer bar seating & you can order off the menu at the bar as well which is nice. The menu is very limited but I am assuming their motto is "quality over quantity." We ordered... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
