We ate at Tony's Pizza our last night in San Francisco. The wait was over an hour for a weeknight which was surprising but since we were waiting for a local friend who was running late we decided to wait the hour plus. We were not disappointed the pizza was excellent and they have a huge range from brick oven... More

Perfect Pizza...order at the take-out and eat right at the tables in front. Like Times Square Pizza was in the last century. Fold it in half, let the sauce drip out on your paper plate and enjoy like a real 'slice-a-pizza'!

I went here in February with my partner and we had a great meal. We had actually called round a night earlier but there was an hour wait for a table so we just went around earlier the next night. They have a huge pizza menu... Like 60 or so! So choosing isn't easy but I doubt a wrong decision... More

If you like Thin-Crust NY style pie, this is the place for you. The wait is well worth it, the price is not cheap as you are paying for craftsman pizza with the best and freshest ingredients around. The sauce is artisan with a flavor profile matching a sweet balanced foundation for your toppings. Enjoy

Without a doubt this is the best pizza menu I have ever had the pleasure of holding in my crust loving hands. I highly recommend the thin crust, it was fantastic. Sold beer list also.

We visited on Valentine's Day and waited 90 minutes for a table. It was worth the wait. We sat outside and it was amazing weather for a February evening. The food was great! Highly recommended.

Their pizza is worth the wait in line. I usually just do the counter service. I have yet to actually grab a table and eat in the restaurant. Be sure to grab a drink next door at Nick and Tony's after your pizza.

I tried Tony's Pizza as I read the many excellent reviews about it and got very curious. I am from Napoli, hence when it comes to pizza (and in general really) I am extremely picky... but with pizza I am also very skeptic. However when I first got there I was quite surprised: there was a long queue of people... More

We had the Gigante Meatball and a Neapolitan Pizza. Both were delicious! The bartender, hostess, and waitress were friendly. Nice place and we would definitely return to try some of the other menu items.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
