I never thought that I would find such good xiaolongbao in SF. The xiaolongbao in Dumpling King tastes almost equivalent to those of its homeland, Shanghai

Came here on a Friday night after work for dinner. But we were totally disappointed. First of all, as some other reviewers mentioned before, no asians at all when we got there. Not a good sign for a Chinese restaurant. The Shanghai dumpling was terrible. Skin was thin, lack of juice inside. The beef noodle soup was equally terrible. Really... More

Good dumplings. Not a fancy place by any means. They have a good selection of other dishes also. Quite atmosphere.

We used to love this place a lot. The Xiao Long Baos were better. By that, I mean the skin, the filling, the juice. We came back here to satisfy our cravings and poor choice. We came in, and we were blown back at the lack of Asians in this place. It used to be packed, and now it was... More

I have not been to the restuarant, but have had their food delivered. Dumplings are great! Wonton soup was OK, not the best.

First trip here and all 5 dishes were good. Dumplings, pork with garlic sauce, Noodles, rice and vegetables. The only area of concern is the lacking cleanliness if the kitchen and restaurant. It is dirty quite frankly or I would have given it a better rating.

My late friend, Chu Ming Wei of San Francisco introduced me to this totally unassuming hole in the wall Chinese Restaurant way out by 34th and Balboa...(near the Balboa Theater). During the years he was alive here, we often dined there.n The atmosphere is nonexistent, and service is spotty curt, but my friend told me in his view as a... More

Of course their xiao long bao is great. Have been for years. They're handmade and very tasty. Ordered the Salt Duck which was good but nothing special. Also had the Pork Fried Rice cakes which was very good and tasty. The serving size was kinda small though. And finally, had the Sugar Egg Puff which was excellent. They were freshly... More

This "hole in the wall" place offers the best northern Chinese dishes in San Fran, but the parking is a bit of an issue, and the wait could be long. Their steam dumpling is a must have, but it also takes them a while to prepare the food. Overall, be patient, it's worth the wait.

We would not have found this place had we not gone to the Legion of Honor museum, which is within walking distance from this restaurant. Balboa street is as far removed from Chinatown as you can get, but amidst the quiet, working-class neighborhood of similar two-story townhouses, there it is. The restaurant reminds me of a traditional family eatery tucked... More
