Very good Hawaiian BBQ chicken and mac salad. The place doesn't look like much but some of the best food comes out of hole in the wall places. The food is inexpensive and good!

Driving along the coast looking for a local place to get lunch. We happened upon Kenekes. A wonderful local place with a large menu. You could say the food is simple, but it's just simply good. You'd spend under $10 and you'd be full. Fish, mac salad, tossed salad. Now take that perfectly simple meal and eat it at a... More

My favorite plate lunch on the Windward side. Full plate lunch menu. Very good mac. Can order your choice of two (rice, mac, fried), which is great for folks that are riced out. No vegan choices and the veggie burger is over priced. Breakfast great for carnivores. Seating is hot, so best for take out. I have eaten here over 100... More

Not much more than a big red & white shack on the side of the road on the Kalanianaoloe Hwy, but a MUST STOP when going thru the area. Keneke's has been around forewver it seems like, and is a local (even island wide) institution. From the faded handwritten menu on the wall, to the concrete seats outside, it'[s my... More

We stopped here for my very first shaved ice experience. I enjoyed it. The place was busy. They offer a large selection of food.

Whenever we travel in Hawai'i we try to eat local. While driving the windward side early one morning we came across Kaneke's and their breakfast special. If you have time this is a decent local joint with good food in huge portions and nice friendly people. The down side,at least on this occasion, was how slooooooow the service was. We were... More

Been coming here for years used to love it. The pork adobo was my fave. Today I went for the last time. I enjoyed the 1st few bites of pork until I found a fried fly in the middle of it al! Pictures to follow

A friend recommended this place so we stopped there after surfing & it was so good! Cheap eats & plenty of food! I had the garlic shrimp & my friend had BBQ chicken. So many options to choose from I think we are going back there for dinner tonight, too!

While visiting my brother in Honolulu he recommended this Hawaiian Plate lunch spot. It did not disappoint! Very inexpensive with huge portions. We got the "pick 3" and my favorite was the Kalua pig and Mahi mahi. A must try for those that like a traditional non-touristy spot!
