We got there at 1:00 and they close a 1:30. The waitress we had was not friendly at all. At 1:15 she told 2 different families that they needed to go somewhere else because they were closed. The service was terrible. The only reason they get three stars is the food was good.

We had a pretty solid breakfast here prior to heading out to the North Shore. There is a good variety of food to choose from. I enjoyed the Breakfast in a Barrel and it filled me up for many hours.

We chose this restaurant based on very positive reviews and it did not disappoint. We arrived around 9:30 and were seated immediately in one of the last open tables. By 10:00, the place was packed with a long wait for a table. Great pancakes, good omelets, just good homemade food in a casual diner with a very friendly waitstaff. A... More

Café Haleiwa is just really good home cooked food. We had the quesadillas (egg, cheese, onion and mushrooms) with home fries. We also liked the fact that they sell local art which you can find hanging on their walls.

We stopped for coffee and pastries. The staff was friendly, the coffee delicious and the cookies absolutely tasty.

What a neat place with great breakfast. Stop here for breakfast or brunch on your way to the North Shore. Food was delicious. We had the "dawn patrol" , and "Off the Lip". Another in our party had the everthing bagle with grilled tomatoes and pesto cream cheese. The interior is brightly decorated with Hawaiian posters, art etc. The waitresses... More

Strawberry waffle and a side of Portuguese sausage. Delicious. Coffee not bad either. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly service, rustic decor. Would go again.

The food at the Haleiwa Cafe was very good, home style cooking. We traveled from Wakikki to North Shore our last day visiting the island and it was very early and we were looking for breakfast. This was one of the very few places open according to google maps on the path. The service was iffy, the waitresses barely acknowledged... More

This quaint hole in the wall had great food and friendly staff. It was packed with what appeared to to be locals but our wait was only 5 mins. Old Haleiwa has wood sidewalks so it's easy to get confused on where parking is! There is a dirt road near the Cafe, follow it and the parking is behind it.... More

Cafe Haleiwa serves up a very tasty breakfast, locally sourced ingredients where available, rustic ambiance (cool surf art, sagging ceiling in the back, unsaved parking behind) on the edge of the historic town, without tourist trap upcharges. Super cliffs pancakes, perfectly prepared eggs, sublimely seasoned home fries... yum! Large portions, good coffee, friendly, no nonsense service, and a great start... More
