They have great hot dogs and it is a place to get a small bit of chili on rice (a small ice cream cup size) It is reasonable. The staff are friendly. Grab a bowl of chilli and sit under the Banyan Tree or walk and window shop.

We visited 3 different shave ice shops and by far we really enjoyed this little shop! I tend to enjoy my shave ice without all the additives (ice and flavorings only); surprised to find out they didnt charge for toppings or additions! So in a nutshell: great shave ice, good value for your buck!

This place was good...but ululanis was better. I felt like shaved ice in Maui was like gelato in italy. Its never bad, but some are just better! Actually it was really good until we discovered ululanis. That said the service is great and its refreshing on a hot day!

The shave ice was generous with flavoring, there was a giant scoop of ice cream in the bottom. It is located at the front of the market so it can be a bit crowded but worth it.

Our very first taste of shaved ice happened here, at Local Boys. When we would drive by, we kept seeing crowds of people lined up, hanging out, etc...so we thought "Hey, let's try it and see why!!" We were not disappointed!! The portions are huge!! No stinginess here!! Price was good, and the service was great! That's why we went... More

This is the best place for shave ice in Maui. Try the others but you will come back to Local Boy. Lots of flavors and add ons at no charge. They are huge and cheap and may be a great, friendly staff.

Great flavors, free mix ins: the coconut ice cream and Kauai Cream are must trys, we even tried the mochi balls. (They are kind of like gummy bears but do not get as hard with the cold ice and they only come in one flavor.) Walk across the street & watch the sunset!

The shave ice at local boys is velvety and smooth in texture and the flavor choices are extensive! They also provide a complimentary scoop of ice cream in the bottom. Thankfully we tried the Kihei local boys before trying the ice at their Lahaina location. We had shave ice at local boys in Lahaina twice and noticed that the flavorings... More

Still has some of its famous taste .... But I get a sense it is losing its drive to be the best. They were out of the best favors a few days in a row. Still Walk away with a good shave ice but Ulalanas is definitely better.

We tried three different shave ice places on Maui so that we could compare: Ululani in Kihei, Ululani in Lahaina, and Local Boy in Kihei. This one was definitely the lowest of the bunch. The young lady serving was extremely nice, and the portion size was good, however, the flavorings they use left a strange, oily aftertaste (we just had... More
