We celebrated my moms birthday here and had a very nice dinner and drinks. The food is good. I can’t give a 5 star review because I was blindly over charged and not sure if it was a mistake or intentionally. When I received the...bill I asked if she would take cash and the remainder balance on my card. When I got the receipt it was the correct amount that should of been charged and I signed and added tip as cash. A week goes by and I notice on my statement I was charged for the full amount. I called the restaurant manager and luckily it was fixed. I do recommend this place if you want a nice dinner with a view. I suggest don’t do what I did and split the bill cash/card to avoid an overcharge.More

Staying at the Princeville Resort my wife and I chose to dine at the MT as the reviews were favorable and it provides nice views. The service was good as well as the meals. My wife ordered the scallops and I ordered the fish of...the day. I also ordered the Kona kampachi sashimi.More

We expect to pay for the magnificent view while dining, but with a $42 short rib choice, it should at least have some greenery, a veggie or some kind of potato slice on the plate with the meat. My small soft drink was never refilled...the entire meal. Dessert was disappointing; limited choices and very dried out brownie. Crab was flakey and tasty but our lettuce salad had limp leaves and sparse dressing. Pleasant server. We were going to take some friends back to Makana next week, but will go somewhere else instead.More

Amazing view. Good service. Overpriced, not great food. We’d go back for cocktails and sunset next time.

The view of Hanalei Bay and Makana mtn is spectacular but the food fell far short of expectations. For almost $200US we expected gourmet, what we got was family restaurant fail. Even the person delivering the meals was unenthusiastic!

My husband and I enjoyed dinner at Makana Terrace. Since we ate a late lunch, we didn't order multiple courses. My husband had a Caesar salad and added half a lobster tail, which was decent, but not worth the cost. The local half lobster tail...was probably only 2-3 ounces and cost $27, not including the cost of the salad. It looked more like a large shrimp than lobster. I thoroughly enjoyed my grilled Opah with half a lobster tail and Molokai mashed sweet potatoes. The Opah was overcooked, but it was so flavorful that I didn't mind. I gave my tiny lobster tail to my husband because I didn't really want it and my fish portion was pretty large. Service was friendly and efficient. The view was spectacular!More

We ate breakfast here almost every morning and had dinner here our first night. We did not have a bad meal here once. The service was always excellent and the staff was always friendly. The scallops were amazing. While a bit pricy it is vacation...and a time to splurge.More

When we arrived, a less than enthusiastic hostess showed us to a table that was in a poor location. We had requested a window seat ahead of time and I saw a booth by the window so I asked if we sit there and she...said “sure”. We were quickly offered water by a kind young man and then waited 15 minutes. I finally asked a server if he knew who our waiter was and a gal showed up and offered to take our order. We had to ask her if she was our waitress as she seemed rather put off to be called over. We ordered drinks, watermelon salad, sashimi and the ahi tuna. Food and drinks came relatively fast. Ahi was very good. Salad was a sloppy mess and tasted strange and sashimi had poor presentation with slices of fish doused in sauce. Waitress never checked on us until we were done. When she did, she said 54 people had been fired and the remaining staff were doing the best they could. She said she’d been there 15 years and said she was safe. Unfortunately, remaining staff may not have been the best? Sorry to see the place go.More

One of the best restaurant views on the globe. The best time to go is a bit before sunset, and reserve a table in the patio edge. Service was fantastic. The waitstaff, led by our waiter Kevin, really made our evening special. The food was...delicious and the presentation excellent. The hotel/building is older, but the ambiance and location are unparalleled. The bone marrow appetizer was phenomenal, as was the fresh fish. It’s far up on the north shore, but the drive was beautiful.More
