After eating at Kalapaki Joe's in Poipu the last few years and enjoying our experiences, we were very disappointed with the restaurant this year. We were turned away twice for dinner arriving between 7:30 and 8:00 due to the "kitchen being overwhelmed" even though there were empty tables and no customers waiting for a table. When we did eat there... More

My husband and I stopped by for dinner tonight. The hostess told us it would be at least 15-20 minute wait even though there were many empty tables. She said she was giving the wait staff "a break" to catch up. I told her we would wait in the bar - she told me no and told us to wait... More

The wait to get in was a little long (30+ min), but the food was good and the service fine. Highly recommend it if you are near Poipu.

This restaurant overlooks the tennis courts so it provided some entertainment while waiting for our food. I tried the kalau pork with the Kalapaki gravy (with onions and mushrooms) topped with two fried eggs (along with two scoops of rice underneath). I love kalua pork but the gravy was a bit too greasy and upset my stomach for the rest... More

Beautiful location in Poipu Beach area so we went for a beer at Happy Hour as it is well publicized. Walking in I couldn't help but notice the built up grease leading out of the kitchen doors to the area behind the restaurant. The bar is small and was almost full but a couple left and we got 2 seats... More

This is by far the worst restaurant experiencel I have ever had, service was slow, my drink took 20 minutes to get to me, my appetizer took over an hour and was tasteless. Seating was the high tables and very uncomfortable, the prices were high and the food was not up to my expectations.

Had the worst service here. Gal at the door said "go to the bar. At least you'll get service there." Wait staff terrible. Long time to get a drink, order, or ask for anything. Staff did nothing about drunk, loud table. Got served wrong drink. Joe would be ashamed. AVOID!

We stayed in Poipu a year ago and Kalapaki Joe's was our go to spot. So, this year when we landed we knew right where to go for a sure, easy meal to end a day of travel. They have a large menu of beer and food. Disclaimer....this review is not so much a poor review of the food as... More

We found Kalapaki Joe's through word of mouth while shopping. We thought it looked like a fun place and we wanted to watch some of the bowl games. It looked like quite a local gathering place, and they were more than happy to welcome us into the group as long as were cheering for the right teams. Of course it... More
