We have dined at Dukes Kalapaki Beach for almost 20 years, and have been disappointed the last two years at the diminished quality and preparation of our food, particularly beef. We usually dine at Dukes several times over the course of our annual vacation on Kauai and always knew we would have a fine dinner, but that has changed. My... More
During a 10 day visit to Kaua'i we are at Dukes restaurant and more casual downstairs bar 5 times-- and enjoyed every meal. Food was great-- lots of locally caught fish dishes -- helpful servers and view out to Pacific-/ can't go wrong with that combination.
We ate in Duke's Barefoot Bar not only because it's located at Kalapaki Beach but also because of the man Duke's is named for, Duke Paoa Kahanamoku. A great spot to have our last meal on Kauai. The food and service was good and we had a table in one of the best spots.

Whenever I get great service, I recognize it publicly and to the individual. Justin, you are an excellent customer service provider. It isn't... More

Salad bar was OK as an add on but probably not worth the stand alone price. Good though the food was the ambiance was the star. Watched canoers and... More

We we were thinking of having a Rehearsal Dinner there for about 30 people. Is there a limited menu to offer guests? What would you recommend? Would the Barefoot Bar downstairs be an option. It would be August 3rd which is a weekday, Any advice would be appreciated,
