This meal was very expensive but the quality of the food and service did not match the price. It took 45 minutes to get a glass of wine which is not how to start a meal. Also, everyone in our party had the same Uncle...More

Ate at lodge in March 2018. First red flag occurred when steak was served with a 1 inch dead mosquito-like bug on my daughters plate. When notified, the server apologized and quickly remedied the situation. I ordered my aha tuna well-done; it arrived pink. We...More

I'm not really sure why this restaurant gets such high ratings. Our experience did not meet our expectations, but they were really busy that night. We made reservations (which is a must) and we were seated on time. The atmosphere is comfortable (you could wear...More

Stopped here for lunch. Wow! What a great surprise. The food was wonderful, and the service was excellent. The food was prepared to satisfy any former.

My husband jokingly said no puka pants and shirt. Actually we just advise casual elegance (jeans Clean shirt ) a lot of our diners come off the trail so fancy is not required. But honestly we even see fur wraps sometimes

Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere. Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.
