Whenever we're up at the national park we always make a point to have dinner at this place. Great 'old Hawaii' vibe teamed up with excellent service and great food. No poi at this place. Just really good European type dishes bent to the German...More

This revitalized YMCA lodge is a great place to stay in Volcano. It’s very easy to find, and that is not a small thing in this very remote part of the big island. I booked one of the house rooms above what looks like a...More

I was looking forward to my breakfast at Kilauea Lodge restaurant, as I had been there on several occasions some years ago. I noticed upon entry how much the place has changed over time. Gone is the rustic feeling one used to get as soon...More

We were greeted with balloons at our table and our name on the top of the menu. Dinner was New York Steak and Fresh Catch (Ahi). Prior to the main meal we had an appetizer of zucchini spears, which was tasty with a combo of...More

We didn’t have reservations ahead but the hostess was able to accommodate us within 30 minutes. Our waitress Ellen was great to explain the menu and special of the night. I found that I had trouble understood most waiters/waitresses in other restaurants as they were...More

Make sure you stop at Kilauea Lodge for lunch or dinner. Food is much better than you will find in the park. They also have a very nice gift shop in the restaurant. Service was good and a nice warm fire after being out in...More

With limited choices in town this restaurant is okay. The place feels like a lodge from camp. The food is okay but subpar for the price. Parking is tight. Needs more competition.

We've been celebrating our anniversary, three days before Christmas, having dinner here. Always have enjoyed our time here. Delicious food, esp. the Brie starter, the soups, and different entrees. Love the atmosphere, and the Christmas decorations always added more for us to enjoy. Even made...More

Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant was recommended to us by friends who are locals in Volcano so we had an idea it would be great. I made our reservation for my wife's 62nd birthday and it was just perfect. The restaurant had balloons at the table...More

Aloha and Mahalo for your Review. We appreciate knowing your wife enjoyed her birthday dinner! We try to make birthdays and anniversaries special.... A birthday dessert "on the house" and a corny happy birthday song...corny but celebratory. You can always skip the song :) Lorna

Aloha! So happy you filled your empty tummies and got some good replenishing calories. And Albert's sauces are all house made using mostly veggies so it's all good! Mahalo for writing a Review. Lorna

Aloha. if you stayed in the Hale Maluna rooms (1-4) they are smaller than the Hale Aloha rooms because they are part of the historic YMCA buildings from 1937. The beds are more firm than soft, and it is difficult to... More

My husband jokingly said no puka pants and shirt. Actually we just advise casual elegance (jeans Clean shirt ) a lot of our diners come off the trail so fancy is not required. But honestly we even see fur wraps sometimes

Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere. Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.
