What a find! Volcano is a magical place anyway but this spot is just perfect, they do take out lunches and sit down meals. The food is the best I had in Hawai'i. Being a vegetarian helped but my boyfriend isn't and he also agreed it was the best food we had on the big island. Lovely fresh salads and... More

Volcano is the town nearest the entrance of Volcano National Park, and I'd guess that most visitors drive right by and don't even notice the town. Cafe Ono is just barely off the main road (by about a minute) and it is a bit eclectic. It's a vegetarian place, but don't let that scare the carnivores in the crowd. Everything... More

Great location right outside the gates of Volcano National Park. The soups are out of the world, the surrounding gardens and gallery complete the atmosphere.

This place is all around great. The food is really good and the menu is all vegetarian/vegan, but you won't miss the meat. Most meals come with delicious homemade soup and entree with salad. Really good value. Nice to enjoy in the garden on a beautiful volcano day. I've had most of the menu items and really like the lasagna... More

Healthy options (limited menu) in a serene garden full of art. There's also a few tables inside. Gallery attached to the restaurant. Recommended if you're near Volcano as an alternative to corporate food in the park...

The restaurant was closed that day,but we loved the gift shop and grounds of cafe onto. They have a residential bunny and lizard that an employee was kind to introduce us too.. It was enchanted and the folks couldn't have been kinder

The culinary genius of Artist Ira Ono serves healthy vegetarian lunches throughout the year in this gorgeous location. Eat out on the lawn when nice and wander his gift shop for hidden treasures. This is a must do rain or shine in Volcano. Couples, stay @ the Cottage!

A day exploring the volcano park finished off perfectly with a lovely lunch in the beautiful garden setting. Delicious soup, quiche and salad combo. Well worth searching out.

My husband really likes their coffee, and I like that they often offer a gluten free treat. We also enjoy the peaceful garden setting. The people are always very friendly and have given us good tips on things to see in the area.

This is a small place tucked away on the outskirts of Volcano, but it is worth trying because of the excellent vegetarian food. Check the hours and days they are open to avoid coming when they are closed.
