We always stop in to see him when we are on the big island. We stumbled on his shop our first trip to the island because we stopped at the antique store and the guy recommended we go over for a free piece of dessert (it was right after thanksgiving & Mr Ed had made a huge meal for all... More

Price for ice cream starts at a reasonable $2.75 for one scoop to help cool you down. Large delicious cinnamon buns for $4.00 for sharing with your partner over the next day was a great purchase.

We had been told about Mr. Ed's by a local resident of the island. It had a huge selection of local jams, jellies and butters. The ice cream was good. All of the cookies we purchased were stale or overcooked.

If you are headed to Akaka Falls you must plan to stop and spend time in Honomu. Mr. Eds is great along with the antique store next door, Glass From the Past.

We happened in to Mr. Ed's Bakery on our way down from Akaka Falls. Many of the local Hawaiians were having coffee and just hanging out on the front sidewalk - we had a wonderful coffee and cookie break talking to Mr. Ed - what a wonderful colorful character.

We loved the cinnamon rolls and wish we had gotten there before the Coconut turnovers were gone. This family is working hard to make others lives better. My husband and I recommend you stop often to try all of the wonderful selections. I hope you are lucky enough to be there when something is just coming out of the oven,... More

Nice people, great treats, exotic jams & jellies, good coffee. Tables on the sidewalk with a view of a massive Banyan tree down the street.

Had a great time in Ed's bakery. Just a short drive outside of Hilo in Honomu is a quaint little village on your way to Akaka Falls. Spend a little time there and see what I call the "real deal" when I travel.
