The poke here was the best I had in the state. For $13 i got a ton of poke (most restaurants charge more for a few ounces and i would guess suisan gave about a pound of poke) and it was delicious. My only regret is that I was only able to go once during my trip.

Visited as it was highly recommended. Nice staff that let us sample a bit of the spicy poke first as we hadn't tried any poke before. Large plate that came with 2 sides was enough to fill the both of us. We tried the spicy and the mixed poke but decided the mixed one was quite average and we should... More

Read the reviews and made a trip to Suisan's today. We both got the Ahi Poke bowl. This was our first Poke experience. I got the sesame ahi which I liked. Wife got habanero ahi and honey ahi. She didn't care for the honey version but said the Habanero was great. Huge portions. Definitely worth a stop with a great... More

You would think it's easy to get fresh seafood in Hawaii..ain't so. Here, they have fresh fish (whole and pieced), and fresh made Poke. Tuna is the favorite, and they run out of Tuna Poke quickly. Local favorite. Don't come here if you're looking for cooked seafood. Meat Counter service. Snacks and drinks available. Picnic tables outside. Close to the... More

The shop is very well stocked, they have variety of fish and poke types. We went there for a poke bowl. I have to say the portions are pretty big but the poke had no taste. We had poke in several other places on the island and this was by far the worst one. Pieces of tune had visible skin... More

If you are going to cook your own fish, this is the place to get your raw materials (get it?!). Poke is also top notch, they have poke bowls, or by the pound - who needs rice???

As part of our day trip to Hilo, we were told to visit the Suisan market for the best poke on the island. We were not disappointed! They had a variety of fish/seasoning offerings at a reasonable price. A must go for anyone who loves fresh poke.

We stopped to try the Poke which we absolutely have to have when visiting the Big Island. The poke bowl is the way to go for under $25 per couple. We tried the spicy ahi and California roll ahi which was just amazing! Worth the stop! It is next to a park which is very nice and a popular local... More
