Great food, friendly service, nice quick and quality place to eat. The chicken and the pulled pork were some of the best food we've had on the island so far!

Wanted to eat at da poke shack but it was closed on Mother's Day. Decided to eat at Jakes instead ( attached next door). Ordered pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw and baked beans with lemonade and Diet Coke. Nice oriental lady took our order and called us by name when food was ready. Plenty of seating around and the place... More

Ribs and pulled pork and chicken are all excellent. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Eat before or after a visit to Captain Cook.

Closer to a 3.5 Nice guys selling decent BBQ. The folks here are so nice and are willing to accommodate. The food is not bad. The place is conveniently off the highway. There are a few picnic tables to eat on. The ribs and Mac salad were the highlights. I am on the fence about going back, but may if... More

Great BBQ all the time. Jake's shares a wide spot on the road with Da Poke Shack so pay attention or you'll miss it.

It shares a wide spot on the road with a poke restaurant, and you know they are both good when the entire Captain Cook Fire Department and rescue units show up to eat. Yes, you are eating adjacent to a busy road, but the ambiance isn't why you come-it's because it is a a restaurant that smokes meat onsite, and... More

It was okay, but I really think it wasn't worth the drive. And we got 3 items and sodas, totaled to be $46. If you do go, the chicken is amazing and juicy. The tritip isn't that flavorful at all.

We stopped here after snorkeling. I had the hot link sausage which was fantastic! The BBQ sauce had a kick. My husband enjoyed his brisket sandwich. The baked beans were a bit spicy too. Really good. I might very well crave that hot link....

Today we thought on our drive south of Kona we would stop at Jake's for lunch... CLOSED.. the lady at the da poke stop next door said he is a bit unpredictable on opening. Sorry we missed it. Next time.

Stopped here on our way back from the south and it was amazing! We each got something different and shared it all, some of the best BBQ we have ever had. And it was made and served up by Jake himself with patience and a smile! Don't be in a rush, it can get pretty busy, there isn't much for... More
