This restaurant offers an Early Bird special, you have to order before 6:00 p.m. The food and service was outstanding. Even though we were there for the early bird we were not rushed. Their signature dish, rack of lamb was outstanding. They stuffed mushroom appetizer...More

After 20 years my wife and I returned to the Blue Lion for our anniversary. It matched our wonderful memories. Great food + great wife = great evening.

Dined with friends, excellent atmosphere with attentive staff. Beef, buffalo and elk main courses were superb and as good as we have had in Michelin starred restaurants. However, 2 crab cake starters were burnt to the stage of carbonisation on one side and were served...More

We were here for dinner on an overnite visit to Jackson. The service, the food and the atmosphere were all quite excellent. The rack of lamb lived up to its accolades here on trip advisor. The buffalo with huckleberry sauce was a reasonably close second....More

Try this restaurant and you won't be disappointed! The food and service were the best of the week in Jackson. The Elk appetizer was particularly outstanding!

We dined two evenings, we liked it so much. Rack of lamb and halibut. Both prepared to perfection. Sat on beautiful outside patio, had excellent service and a quality acoustic guitar player added sophistication to the evening. (Not western music!) There were families.

We had a wonderful meal at the Blue Lion. It has a charming atmosphere. The service was prompt and professional. The food was delicious and well prepared. We had the local elk and bison dishes and we were not disappointed.

They did have some vegan options on their menu! They do have a website, with the most current menu on it! I'd check there for what they serve! Jackson is very, vegan friendly at most venues!

I agree that the outdoor eating is small but it may be manageable depending on the size of the dog I would call the restaurant to double check

The Blue Lion was built as a residential home in the late 1930's, in 1974 it became The Tourist Trap restaurant and then in 1976 The Blue Lion. I bought it in 1978 after graduating college.
The Blue Lion has evolved a lot since those early days mostly due to retired head chef, Tim Libassi who's was with me for almost 25 years. We continue to add and change dishes semi-annually. The lamb, elk and fresh fish are our biggest sellers. There was a restaurant in southern California where I grew up that served mud pie and my mother made a home made hot fudge sauce which we incorporated into our own version of mud pie, a local favorite.
The restaurant has been enlarged several times, the upstairs dining, the kitchen, the waiting area and the outdoor deck. In the winter The Blue Lion can accommodate 60 diners at one time. In the summer we open the deck enabling us to accommodate 80 diner. We are open nightly at 5:30 and usually feature an acoustical guitarist as entertainment.
