Our family recently had an authentic Italian dinner at La Scala, which is located in the Italian Community Center. The food was basic and good tasting, served up in a friendly way. I had a Salmon entree, soup and salad, all of which were very good, especially the salmon. The restaurant was not busy, and a couple of men who... More

My friends and I come to the ICC 2x yr to have dinner or lunch. We were anxious to see the changes now that Bartolotta's took over the restaurant. Maybe we should have waited a few more weeks/months. We hoped the Chicken Pastini would still be served as it's our favorite soup. It was and we ordered it, however, it... More

We sat in the Court Yard for a night of music and dinner. The music was great, but the service was lousy as was the food. Took 30 minutes before a waitress stopped by our table to take our order. After placing our order she returned four times to verify the order. After waiting one hour for the food, everything... More

what can I say, usually i shy away from poor reviews because i simply would not return, but all I can say is NO, just say No to going here. Low budget food, nothing remotely Italian about it, service is sooooo bad, i mean non existent. It seems they have a local following that goes there to suffer though this... More

Located near the Summerfest grounds, this restaurant is very accessible. The food and service and very good. They have a private parking lot and street parking is also easy (except during Summerfest and festival season (summer).

Went to see a band that was playing for their "Courtyard Series". Band was good. Unfortunately it was too cold to be outside, so the event was moved inside to a cavernous, old-fashioned banquet room filled with tables for 10. This seemed to work great for those who were there to take advantage of the dance floor, but the ambiance... More

Went there for lunch on a Saturday. The place was empty except for one other patron. If the bartender was a little friendlier they might have more people in there or maybe more people come back. The food was good even though we did not have any traditional Italian dishes. Would like to try breakfast sometime, we just missed it.... More

Slowest service ever. We were ignored after placing our order for breakfast. Understaffed? Did not appear to be and there were empty tables. Waited 40 minutes. Had to stand to get any attention

A cut above average- not fantastic considering it is in the ICC but a nice break from the trendy places in the Third Ward and very resonable priced.

What a nice night we had at the Italian Community Center's Cafe La Scala! After attending our first ICC membership meeting, we went to the bar to have a drink and a bite to eat. My husband had spaghetti and meatballs and reported that the sauce was delicious in a very simple way. He said it reminded him of his... More
