Food was absolutely perfect. Huge portions at very reasonable prices. There was absolutely no way we could eat all of our food. Quality was exceptional. This place does not look lovely from the outside, and certainly isn't fancy inside, but the food is fabulous. Order the onion rings, they are perfect!

Silver Spring house is a cozy little bar/restaurant. We went for the Friday fish fry and lets just say it is not what it used to be. I had the poor mans lobster, and I couldn't eat it, the seasoning was awful. My daughter had the cod fish fry, and it was just greasy and very bland. My grand daughter... More

We had a group of five and we had play tickets which we told our waitress when she finally appeared, after we were seated with out drinks for over 5 minutes. We ordered our meal and drinks at the same time to hurry things along but there was no hurrying the House tonight. My side salad, took forever to arrive,... More

Love the early 1900's building! Went there early Sunday evening after attending a play at Eastbrook Church. First time I ever saw parking lot not full! Chicken Dumpling soup was full of meat, veggies and dumplings and served with homemade bread and butter. My tenderloin steak sandwich was very flavorful but the promised onion ring garnish was not served. I... More

Our first visit. The historical part is great. We were there at 1:15 for lunch and there were only a few other diners there with 2 at the bar. Our order was simple, off the menu; 2 breaded chicken sandwiches and an order of sliders, no add-ons or changes. Soda and iced tea. 40 minutes is what we waited for... More

A neighborhood place that felt comfortable for all who entered. Good variety on the menu and the food was good.

I used to go to SSH for fish fry regularly but hadn't been there for years. We decided to give it a try. The waitress was rude. My daughter ordered a sandwich on a ciabatta bun. It was served on a hamburger bun and when we asked about it the waitress said that they ran out of ciabatta the day... More

From the outside, the Silver Spring House looks inviting enough - a historic roadside inn in a suburban setting. The inside is much the same, with a big old-time bar and friendly enough staff. The menu looks promising, with a lineup of standard American bar cuisine. But dining experiences of late have been frustratingly inconsistent. All-you-can-eat is more like "find... More
