Milwaukee used to have several premier German Restaurants, but most have closed, except for Maders. Food is authentic and outstanding. Service is also top notch. Great place for both residents and visitors! Not a cheap restaurant, but the quality justifies the prices. Go for lunch...More

My husband just had the opportunity to go to Mader's restaurant, in Milwaukee. It was every bit as good and better than we remembered it from our last visit, some years ago. Great friendly service with excellent food in a comfortable "white table-cloth" classic setting.

Truly German, feels like you're in another country. Food is awesome and service is wonderful. We had a family reunion and birthday party here.

This restaurant has been in biz for over 100 years. The atmosphere us old German, the waitresses are wearing dirndls. The German food is authentic and delicious. Several German beers from which to choose. Glad we went!

Very good German food in a classic old school setting. Ox tail soup was delicious! Good beer selection. A Milwaukee tradition.

Good German comfort at this famopus Milwaukee place. Worth a visit just to see the Hall of Fame- it's like walking into a history book of Americana

Milwaukee has a substantial German heritage. Mader's is the best traditional German restaurant in Milwaukee. Well worth going there for a leisurely lunch or dinner. Excellent ambience and food.

I'm assuming you aren't American because of this question. Mader's is like most American restaurants; there is no formal dress code but you'll feel out of place if you arrive too casual. Americans tend to dress too... More
