The atmosphere, service and food choices will take you back to the very best of Old World dining. Try the Black Forest Schnitzel and Strudel for dessert - it's an A+!

This is our second trip to Karl Ratzsch's and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere is beautiful and takes you away on an Austrian experiance. The German specialities are all made from Mama Ratzsch's recipes. The deserts are all made on premises. Diffinitely, not fast food. This is a place for speacial occasions where you can come, relax and enjoy... More

Karl Ratzsch's isn't one of the new "trendy" haute cuisine places that are (fortunately) becoming commonplace in Milwaukee and around much of the US. This is old school, authentic German cuisine akin to what your great great grandmother Gertrude from Grafelfing would make. My favorites are the Consommé with Liver Dumplings and the Roast Goose Shank. The selection of German... More

I was a little disappointed at our visit to the restaurant. Maybe my expectations were too high but the food was not nearly as good as I had hoped. First we had a discount coupon and maybe it was my imagination but once we said that the waitress seemed a little cool toward us. I ordered the pork schnitzel she... More

I have made this restaurant a must stop for the Christmas holiday season. I love the old world decor and festive touches that are added for the season. I have always had great service. The food is a real treat. I've had the European sampler, the goulash, the pork shank, the Black Forest schnitzel. I would recommend all of these.... More

Karl Ratzsch's offers wonderful German favorites. Their Wiener Schnitzel is my favorite. If you are a Groupon follower, a bargain can be found on occasion. But beware, you must order from the dinner menu to use your Groupon. Otherwise NO SOUP FOR YOU!

We took our German exchange student here while we were visiting WI from Alabama. She said it was the beat schnitzel she has ever had! The menu excited her, so I can only imagine that meant it was a reminder of home! The food was fantastic! I'm not a sauerkraut fan, but actually enjoyed it in the Oktoberfest Fries. It... More

went to ratsch's on Saturday night. had reservations. parking was horrific - valet or on the street. overpriced for mediocre food. servers was nice and competent. it was cramped and crowded. there is one women's bathroom with 2 stalls; one was out of service. the bathroom is on second floor. you need to navigate around coats in the hallway, servers... Constant Companion and I had toured the Pabst Mansion in the AM. After walking around downtown Milwaukee this hot steamy day we opted for lunch at Karl Ratzsch's. I ordered the Saurbraten($15.95), which was a marinated sirloin roast served with a ginger snap gravy, red cabbage and a potato dumpling. The meat was lean, tender and tasty. The ginger snap...
