I love their sandwiches and soups - with many great choices. Their fresh bread is simply fantastic served lightly toasted. Don't leave without trying a fresh baked brownie, scotcheroo or warm chocolate chunk cookie. Chain sandwich places take a back seat compared to Pickerman's.

Excellent pastrami. However if you prefer your pickle on the side rather than in the sandwich tell them in advance,

I'm gluten intolerant, so I obviously couldn't get any of the sandwiches. No gluten free bread options. The salad options were okay. I got the oriental salad and was not impressed with my pile of iceberg lettuce that was supposed to be romaine? My boyfriend got the texas BBQ sandwich and was really excited about it, was just OK. Friends... More

This is my second visit to pickermans and is always my lunch choice when I'm in La Crosse. I love their sandwiches and their soups. Their sandwich bread is fantastic and they have so many good choices. I highly recommend stopping in before you head to a place like jimmy johns.

Well we walked around historic downtown La Crosse, we came across this place and he cited soup and a sandwich sounded good. I was sadly disappointed as it was just a soup and sandwich and probably not really worth $10 each.

I have yet to have soup at Pickerman's that was not great. Pickerman's is my place of choice for meeting friends for lunch. It is conveniently located downtown, which of course, means that parking could be an issue. They have a small lot on the side of their building, and usually you can find a space on one of the... Pickerman's is a family-owned business. Their sandwiches and soups are a great option for lunch or a quick dinner. Ingredients are fresh and the staff is friendly and accomodating.

I will get right to the point--avoid the vegetable beef soup at Pickerman's. It is the Campbell's condensed vegetable beef soup. Nothing against the canned soup that I grew up on, but I was incredibly upset to be charged $5+ for a bowl of Campbell's soup at a restaurant. I can not speak to the rest of their soup options... There aren't many good places to eat in La Crosse (sorry, it's true), but pickerman's is one of the best. The soup, sandwiches, and cookies are so good. The best sandwich is the vegetarian; it has veggies, cream cheese, and a really tasty dressing. The chocolate chip and double chocolate chip cookies are soooooooooo gooooooooood. Get them if you go,... More

Stopped in here after walking around downtown on Oktoberfest. Loved everything about it. The Pastrami was superb and the chili a perfect touch. Busy place but efficient.
