As always this restaurant offers a well presented experience with a changing seasonal menu. The restaurants winery provides the perfect accompaniment to the meal. We dined with friends from interstate and everyone enjoyed the meal.

I will preface this review by saying I have been a loyal supporter and fan of Josef Chromy restaurant for many years and has always been the 'go to" restaurant for any special occasion or just wanting the best. However at our last visit I...sensed a slight shift in standards. Whilst the quality of the food was as always innovative and excellent, the service welcoming and friendly. I have to say I felt rushed, almost wanting us to hurry, finish and make space for the next paying customer. We actually didn't order a dessert because the meal had been so rushed. It was unfortunate and may have been the exception. But it was enough to consider the other options around Launceston on planning our next fine dining experience.More

Went for lunch on a Saturday and decided to have the recommended matching wines with each course. Wow, the food and wine was excellent. The staff fantastic. The whole experience from the gardens, the vineyards through to tyhe restaurant just superb. I'd travel to Launceston...just to go there for lunch and dinner again and I will!! Do not miss visiting this place, you won't be disappointed.More

The restaurant is beautifully located in a picturesque setting. The menu wasn’t large, but offered a good range of local produce and a good wine list. Excellent service by staff, and reasonable set prices for 2 or 3 courses. Recommended.

Popped in for a wine tasting (by the glass) and enjoyed a nice sparkling and Pinot, accompanied with an excellent Platter. If we had more time would have elected for the sit down tasting as the wines were impressive

I’m not sure what this place was like before all the work they recently had done - but it’s a wonderful space to have a meal in overlooking the vineyards. Each course was delicious and the service was friendly and professional.

As soon as we walked into the restaurant, we noticed a real buzz. Every aspect of our experience was excellent. Space between tables was generous; service was friendly and efficient. We had a three course meal, and loved every dish. I note the negative reviews....Everyone is entitled to their opinion. My opinion is that this is a top class venue doing a great job.More

Absolutely disappointed. Asked for a gin and tonic but they had no tonic and waiter brought a gin and soda. I refused it and had, sadly, to push the point that we would not be paying for the drink. The waiter had a poor understanding...of English and was very difficult to understand. Ordering our meals was very difficult. As a result of the decor the restaurant was very noisy. It was not a pleasant experience. The gardens were nice.More

I was really disappointed with our lunch here. After going for lunch a few months back, which was also disappointing, we thought we would give it another go. The risotto was bland and tasteless, the only yummy part being the leeks. My partners kingfish was...very good. The main of pork was incredibly fatty, to the point where I couldn’t eat more than half of it. The wine list is good and staff seemed knowledgeable in helping pick between numerous bottles / vintages of the same varieties. The setting in the grounds is lovely. Wish we hadn’t bothered with the expensive restaurant meal and had instead sat outside with a bottle and tried their casual dining menu. I don’t think we would return to the restaurant. You would pay the same amount of money to go to an exceptional restaurant in town, Stillwater.More

A truly wonderful setting overlooking the garden & vineyard. Very friendly & helpful stuff. But to top it off very high quality & well presented dishes. Oh I forgot, also a great opportunity to taste the wines while you eat.

Ate there for lunch. Had heard it was a nice place from friends in Melbourne. Very pleasant restaurant space, excellent staff. Good menu with some different choices. Good wines. All in all a very good choice for lunch.
